Chapter 2090

“If you hadn't interfered, Jasmine wouldn't have become head of the Moore family,” Reuben spat.

“In that case, I wouldn't have considered killing her,” he muttered. His eyes blazing with hatred, he continued in a cold voice, “Charlie Wade, Jasmine, this ends now. Don't provoke me; otherwise, I will kill you, regardless of who you are.”

Calming himself, Reuben called Charlie Wade.

“Hello,” Charlie Wade said.

“Master Wade? It’s Reuben Moore,” Reuben replied hastily.

“Oh, it’s Lord Moore,” Charlie Wade corrected.

“Master Wade, please call me Reuben. Grandpa said you’re in Tokyo because of Jasmine. He told me to follow your instructions. Where are you?”

“I’m at a friend’s house,” Charlie Wade replied.

“A friend’s house might be inconvenient. Why not stay at a hotel? I’m at the Aman Hotel Tokyo. I can have someone give you the best room,” Reuben offered.

“No need,” Charlie Wade said indifferently. “It’s convenient here.”

Then, adopting a commanding tone, he instructed, “Reuben, I want to meet you. Report to me personally on Jasmine’s situation and the investigation’s progress.”

Reuben’s insides churned, but he responded piously, “Yes, Master Wade. Give me the address. I’ll come immediately.”

Charlie Wade, wanting to make Reuben squirm, said calmly, “No. You’re at the Aman Hotel, aren’t you? Wait there. I’ll send someone to pick you up and call when they arrive.”

“Master Wade, I hardly deserve such an honor,” Reuben protested. “I can come myself…”

“Don’t argue. Just wait for the call,” Charlie Wade interrupted, hanging up.

Reuben’s anger exploded. He slammed the phone onto the carpet, cursing, “Damn it! Who do you think you’re talking to? How dare you talk to me like that?” He hissed, “And you want me to come to you? You think you’re so high and mighty? Staying with a friend in Tokyo makes you so cool? It’s infuriating!”

Despite his rage, Reuben understood the situation clearly. He had to meet Charlie Wade, follow his instructions, and appear completely cooperative. Otherwise, Charlie Wade might kill him. He knew Charlie Wade's temper, and his ambiguous relationship with Jasmine was dangerous. If Charlie Wade discovered Reuben's involvement, he would be dead.

At the Ito family mansion, Jasmine rested while Nanako kept Charlie Wade company. After ending the call, Charlie Wade said to Nanako, “Nanako, I need a favor. Send a motorcade to pick someone up. The grander, the better.”

“Of course, Charlie Wade. Anything you need,” Nanako replied readily.
