The Amazing Son-in-Law: Chapters 186-190
Chapter 186
When Jacob Wilson saw everyone awaiting his family, he quickly bowed his head, greeting his mother and older brother with a smile. Christopher ignored him. Lady Wilson nodded slightly.
Jacob Wilson quickly asked, "Mother, why did you call us here? Is something wrong?"
"I want to ask you something. Do you own one of the Thompson First rental properties?" Lady Wilson asked coldly.
Jacob Wilson replied, "Yes, Mother. Mr. White gave the property to Charlie Wade for Feng Shui advice."
Harold snorted. "If Charlie Wade got the villa for Feng Shui advice, everyone in the Wilson family should quit their jobs and become Feng Shui masters!"
Everyone in the living room chuckled. Jacob Wilson forced a laugh at his family's ridicule.
Christopher laughed. "Mom, regardless of how Charlie Wade obtained the villa, Mr. White himself called to clarify he gifted it to him. There's no need to make Jacob explain."
Jacob Wilson looked at his brother gratefully. Christopher, usually dismissive, was defending him!
Christopher continued, smiling, "Mom, you don't need to ask Jacob how the villa happened. Mr. White clarified it was a gift. We have nothing to worry about."
Lady Wilson turned to Jacob. "Jacob, your brother is planning a marriage proposal with the Thomas family."
Jacob grinned. "That's excellent. The Thomas family is highly respected. If Harold marries Loreen, it would greatly benefit the Wilsons."
Lady Wilson sighed. "However, I feel the Wilsons can't compare to the Thomas family."
Jacob nodded seriously. "Mom, honestly, I think Loreen won't want Harold."
Harold's face changed. "Second Uncle, what do you mean?!"
Jacob realized his mistake. "Oh, I meant the Wilsons can't compare to the Thomas family."
Lady Wilson replied, "If we lived in Aurouss Hill's finest villa, the Thomas family wouldn't look down on us."
Jacob looked surprised. "Mom, are you planning to buy a new house?"
Lady Wilson replied, "I wish I could, but I don't have the money."
Jacob immediately said, "Mom, I have about a million dollars I can give you."
Lady Wilson grunted. "A villa costs tens of millions! What can I do with a million dollars?" She continued, pointedly, "Jacob, doesn't your family have a villa in Thompson First?"
"Yes," Jacob replied, dazed. "So?"
"So?" the old lady retorted unhappily. "I'm your mother! Can you bear to see me in this old house for years? You have the finest villa in Thompson First; shouldn't you give it to me?"
Chapter 187
Jacob was taken aback. "Mom, I'm sorry, but the Whites gave the villa to Charlie Wade, not me."
Lady Wilson lost her patience, dropping all pretense. "Charlie Wade is the Wilson family's son-in-law! The villa belongs to the Wilsons! As head of the family, don't I have the right to live there?"
Charlie Wade sneered. He'd expected nothing good from this gathering. The old woman was trying to take the villa from him.
Jacob, realizing his mother's true intentions, began sweating profusely, looking at Charlie Wade with embarrassment.
Christopher spoke triumphantly. "Jacob, you're Charlie Wade's father-in-law."
Lady Wilson nodded, greed shining in her eyes. She was thrilled at the prospect of living in the luxurious villa.
Claire Wilson spoke up. "Grandma, the villa doesn't belong to the Wilson family."
Lady Wilson glared at Claire. "Who gave you the right to speak?"
She turned to Charlie Wade with a cold expression. "The villa was given to you. You're just a son-in-law; you're not entitled to enjoy it. Go to the company's finance department tomorrow and take 100,000 as compensation for giving me the villa."
Christopher added, "Charlie Wade, 100,000 is a lot of money. You're a worthless brat living off your wife. I bet you've never seen that much money before."
Charlie Wade glared at Christopher and sneered. "You want the Thompson First villa for 100,000?! My villa is worth over 100 million! Lady Wilson, aren't you shameless?"
The living room fell silent. Everyone's eyes were on Charlie Wade. Surprise, shock, and admiration filled the room. Even Claire was surprised by Charlie Wade's boldness.
Lady Wilson slammed her hands on the table. "Scumbag! How dare you argue with me?! Men, throw Charlie Wade out!"
Harold added, "Grandmother, teach him a lesson! He's just a son-in-law."
Jacob Wilson could only watch, unable to speak.
"Simple and respectful?" Charlie Wade sneered. "I don't need to be respectful to anyone here! The only person deserving of my respect is my father-in-law, Jacob Wilson!"
Chapter 188
This family had never treated Charlie Wade as one of their own. Only Jacob endured their behavior out of love for his family. Claire had been constantly harassed, and the entire family resented her position at Emgrand Group. They had constantly bullied her family. Charlie Wade had endured it for his wife's sake, but he wouldn't let them take his villa.
Harold yelled at Charlie Wade, "I'll teach you a lesson!"
Charlie Wade snorted contemptuously. "Harold, you're nothing to me."
Lady Wilson stood up, yelling, "Charlie Wade! Beg for forgiveness and hand over the villa, or I'll have Claire divorce you and throw you out to die on the streets!"
Claire, who had been silent, stood protectively in front of Charlie Wade. "I refuse! Are you the patriarch?! You've oppressed my father and harassed Charlie Wade. I'll never divorce him!"
Lady Wilson was furious. She scolded Jacob, "Look at your daughter! Is this how you raise her? I want her to beg for forgiveness!"
Jacob, finally raising his head, glared at Lady Wilson.
Christopher was shocked. Jacob had always been meek and submissive, never daring to argue with his mother, yet now he was glaring at her contemptuously!
Christopher yelled, "Second Brother, tell your daughter and son-in-law to kneel and beg for forgiveness!"
Jacob, unexpectedly strong, said, "Brother, someone gave Charlie the villa. It's none of your business who my daughter married. Who gave you the right to control our lives? That villa is worth more than all the Wilson family's properties!"
Lady Wilson, trembling, grabbed a teacup and threw it at Jacob. He didn't dodge; the teacup hit his head, shattering.
Claire cried out, unable to bear anyone insulting her father.
Jacob, tea streaming down his face, said coldly, "Mother, if there's nothing else, we'll leave." He looked at Charlie and Claire. "Let's go." He turned and walked towards the door. Claire wiped her face and left without hesitation. Charlie followed, ignoring the others. Christopher was furious.
Chapter 189
Christopher had planned everything with Lady Wilson. He'd invited the family elders to pressure Jacob into giving up the villa. He thought he could intimidate Jacob into submission. He disrespected Claire and ignored Charlie. He expected them to simply hand over the villa.
He hadn't expected Jacob to talk back, nor Claire to disobey, nor Charlie to be so bold and defiant.
Christopher gritted his teeth. "Mother! You can't let them leave! They'll think they're superior! What power will you have then?"
Lady Wilson's face was awful. She'd always been in control and wouldn't tolerate defiance. She hated their disobedience.
She yelled, "You're a disgrace to the Wilsons! As long as I'm alive, you'll obey me!" She ordered the bodyguards, "Close the doors! I'll teach them a lesson!"
She didn't understand how Jacob raised such disrespectful children. She needed to punish them, and she needed the villa. The only way they'd leave was by giving her the villa.
Bodyguards surrounded them.
Charlie glared at them coldly. "If anyone takes a step forward, don't blame me for being ruthless."
A bodyguard yelled and rushed at Charlie with a baton. Charlie disarmed him, striking his leg, breaking it.
Chapter 190
Everyone was stunned. The baton was incredibly strong, yet Charlie broke it easily. His strength had greatly increased. The bodyguards posed no threat.
Jacob sighed in relief. He hadn't expected Charlie to be so skilled.
Christopher gritted his teeth. "Charlie Wade! Let's see how you handle many people at once! Attack him!"
Harold, seeking revenge, yelled, "Attack him together!"
The bodyguards rushed at Charlie. He effortlessly knocked them unconscious. Claire was stunned by Charlie's strength.
Jacob explained, "Claire, when you're at work, Charlie practices fighting by watching TV."
Claire was excited. Jacob continued, "Charlie is resourceful. Mr. Graham even apologized to him for his skills!"
Jacob felt guilty. The Wilsons had undervalued Charlie, making him do all the housework. He realized they'd abused him.
Charlie was dealing with the bodyguards while Harold, angered, secretly picked up an axe.
Claire yelled, "Charlie Wade, be careful!"
Harold charged, yelling, "I'll kill you!"
Jacob was terrified. They were trying to kill Charlie!
Harold swung the axe; Charlie caught it with two fingers. Harold struggled, but Charlie's grip was too strong. Harold sweated and screamed, "Let go!"
Charlie sneered, "Harold, you're the trash!"
