Chapter 21: Marry Me

“Oh? You’re here too, Master Leonidas? I think I know why!” Falcon sneered. “You’re here to heal Renée, aren’t you? I’ve heard about the jade scepter you acquired. Unfortunately, it’s useless. Renée has a ‘frosty constitution.’ Using the scepter will only shatter it!”

Erasmus and Leonidas gaped in disbelief. Falcon's knowledge surprised them.

“Nonsense! There’s no such thing as a ‘frosty constitution’! Leave!” Leonidas swung his cane at Falcon.

Falcon’s mention of a “frosty constitution,” echoing Jared’s earlier statement, left Leonidas worried. He had to silence Falcon before he revealed more.

Falcon sneered, catching the cane. “Master Leonidas, you’re too old for this. Your young wife would be heartbroken if anything happened to you!”

“You animal! I’ll kill you!” Leonidas dropped his cane and kicked at Falcon.

Leonidas did have a much younger wife, but Falcon's comment was deeply disrespectful. Falcon, arrogant, retaliated with a kick.

Thud!

Leonidas flew backward, landing heavily.

“Senior, are you alright?” Erasmus rushed to his aid, panicked.

Leonidas was astonished. Falcon had become incredibly strong in just two years.

Jared froze. Did I just sense spiritual energy? Is he an energy cultivator? He knew only Draco possessed such abilities; it marked one as an energy cultivator.

“As I said, Master Leonidas, you’re too old for this. Let the younger generation take over! I’m here to heal Renée. Why the hostility?” Falcon said calmly.

“How did you become so strong, Falcon?” Leonidas demanded.

“Haha! That’s my secret! But my mentor is now a follower of the Phantom Monastery. I might even lead it someday!” Falcon exclaimed.

“Traitor!” Leonidas roared. “You betrayed us and now worship evil? You disgrace us! I will eradicate you!”

Leonidas lunged, but Erasmus stopped him. They were no match for Falcon.

“You can’t beat me. I’m here to heal Renée. Believe me,” Falcon said impatiently.

“I don’t believe your kindness, Falcon. What are your terms?” Erasmus asked.

“Master Erasmus, I’ve known Renée since childhood. After I heal her, I’d like to marry her. Is that too much to ask?” Falcon smiled faintly, his gaze softening as he looked at Renée.
