Chapter 296: Let Him Go

"Then I'll take my leave," Walter said, knowing he wouldn't be much help in the fight.

Glen nodded. Passing Jared, he whispered, "Try not to kill anyone, Mr. Chance. It'll get messy if you do."

The death of the Whitaker family head in Horington would cost the mayor his job.

"Don't worry, Mr. Lowe. I know what I'm doing," Jared assured him.

With Jared and Walter gone, Kane studied Glen curiously. Jared seemed like an ordinary young man; Kane didn't understand the duo's respect.

"You're the one who crippled my son?" Kane's voice was filled with fury.

"That's right," Jared replied calmly, his eyes devoid of emotion. "If someone hadn't intervened, he'd be dead. Trash like him doesn't deserve to live."

Impressed by Jared's blunt admission, Kane snapped his fingers at a white-attired expert. The expert immediately attacked, his fist moving so fast it broke the sound barrier.

Thud!

The expert flew backward, crashing to the ground and coughing up blood, while Jared remained unmoved.

Confused for a moment, Kane sneered. "So you're skilled. That explains your arrogance. But even as a master, I won't leave without avenging my son!"

He ripped off his shirt, revealing a muscular physique, ready to fight.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

Hurried footsteps echoed through the hotel. A Whitaker family expert looked out the window, his expression darkening. He quickly whispered to Kane.

Kane frowned and looked out the window himself. Thousands of armed people surrounded the hotel.

"My men have arrived, Kane!" Tommy laughed. "Remember calling me a worm? Unless you're all immortal, you're not getting out alive with thousands of people against you."

Kane stared at Tommy, stunned. He hadn't expected Tommy to summon so many men so quickly; he'd been unaware of Tommy's takeover of the Crimson Dragon Gang.

"It's not over, Tommy. I can still kill you all before they break in. You know what happens if I die in Horington!" Kane barked.

"I'm not scared of you," Tommy retorted fearlessly. "I'll die to take you with me."

Kane's expression hardened. "Fine. I concede. Until next time."

He gestured to leave, but Tommy blocked his path.

"Let them go, Tommy," Jared said calmly.

Tommy glanced at Jared, then stepped aside, allowing Kane and his men to leave. Without Glen's intervention, Jared would not have been so lenient.
