Chapter 34: Three Days

Upon hearing this, Wilbur whispered to Zachariah.

Zachariah narrowed his eyes. "I want to see which Summerbank family dares to take advantage of the Whitakers. The Jantz family will deal with them!"

A burst of energy erupted from Zachariah, causing his clothes to billow despite the lack of wind. Everyone present shivered.

"I'll give you three days," Zachariah said sternly to Anthony. "If you haven't found the perpetrator, I'll handle it myself."

"Three days?" Anthony was taken aback.

"General Long," Wilbur said, "start your investigation with Jared Chance of Horington. Find his accomplices yourself." Wilbur's mind had instantly jumped to Jared upon hearing of the Whitakers' misfortune.

"Jared?" Anthony murmured, then nodded. "Thank you, Mr. Jantz. I'll look into it."

Anthony and his subordinates departed. The Jantz family would handle the remaining Whitaker matters.

On the way out, Anthony said to Lizbeth, "Lizbeth, Mr. Grange is in Horington, right? Ask him about Jared. He wiped out the entire Whitaker family—he must be someone important, though I've never heard of him."

"Okay," Lizbeth replied, her tone displeased. She still resented the Jantz family's treatment of her.

Anthony sighed, shooting Lizbeth a look.

Back in Yeringham, Jared had slept for a day. Feeling better, he called Zeke to prepare herbs. He planned to make a restorative pill for Tommy that night.

The herbs weren't rare, and Zeke gathered them quickly. After preparing the pill, Jared gave it to Tommy and taught him strengthening techniques for his free time.

The next morning, Jared decided to return to Horington. "William must be worried," he thought. "We've been gone days, and Josephine and I aren't even engaged yet!"

Yasmin, Frida, and Zeke saw them off. The sisters' obvious affection for Jared was apparent.

Jared patted Zeke's shoulder. "Zeke, I'm leaving everything in Yeringham to you. Keep an eye out for incoming herbs. Regardless of cost, reserve all rare herbs for me. Call if you have any problems!"

"Don't worry, Jared," Zeke said confidently. "All rare herbs will go through Goldenbirch Herbs. No one dares challenge me!"

Since Jared's arrival, Goldenbirch Herbs' reputation had soared due to its exclusive revitalizing pills. With Trinity Herbs unwilling to compete, no other herb store dared to challenge them.

After further conversation, Jared and the others departed for Horington. Josephine went straight home, worried about William. Jared returned to his mansion at Dragon Summit.

"Mom, I'm home! Is dinner ready?" Jared shouted, removing his shoes.
