Chapter 396: Zedekiah
The robed man remained silent, dispatching a guard with a flick of his wrist. The other guards immediately drew their weapons and advanced. Tommy, hearing the commotion, rushed to the scene. By the time he arrived, the robed man was surrounded by dozens of guards.
Seeing the fallen guard, Tommy asked, "Who are you?"
The robed man gave him a cold look. "Tell Jared to come out and face his death sentence. He cannot live after killing a member of the Crescent Sect!"
Heโs a member of the Crescent Sect? Iโve seen what Master Venicus can do. These men are powerful mages! Iโm no match for them! Tommy thought, frowning.
He then devised a plan. "Ah, you're here to see Mr. Chance? No problem! Just give me your name, and I'll inform him. Many have come to spar with him, and some want him dead, but Mr. Chance ignores nameless nobodies!"
"Hmph! I'm not a nobody! I am Zedekiah of the Crescent Sect, and I have come to kill Jared!" The robed man snorted, radiating a terrifying aura.
"All right, please wait while I inform him."
Tommy ran into the mansion and called Phoenix, as he couldn't disturb Jared, who was cultivating.
I can't hold off Zedekiah, but with Phoenix and her men, we might stand a chance! he thought.
Phoenix, alerted by Tommy, quickly arrived with her men, also informing Anthony to mobilize his subordinates as backup to buy Jared time.
After a short wait, Zedekiah, seeing no sign of Tommy and sensing Jared's continued presence within the mansion, realized he'd been stalled. "Damn it! He tricked me!" he roared.
Ignoring the guards, he charged toward the mansion.
"Stop him!"
Tommy, muscles bulging, braced for combat. He knew he couldn't underestimate a Crescent Sect mage.
Zedekiah sneered, "Insolent fool!" and sent Tommy flying with a blow. Tommy coughed up blood.
"Don't let him in! Mr. Chance must not be interrupted!" he gasped.
The guards, loyal members of Phoenix Regiment, stood firm, their expressions icy. They were about to attack when Phoenix arrived with hundreds of reinforcements. Surrounding Zedekiah, she anxiously asked Tommy, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine It'll take more than that to kill me," Tommy replied awkwardly.
