Chapter 73: I Miscalculated

“Ten million?” Steel was stupefied, then a flash of glee crossed his face. “Does he really have ten million? He doesn’t seem rich!”

Doubtful, Delilah quickly asserted, “Why would I lie? He said it himself at the bank. If he withdraws 1.3 million, it proves the money’s in his account.”

“That makes sense!” Steel nodded.

“All right, that’s enough! I have things to do, let’s go!” Brayden tugged hard on Delilah.

“What are you afraid of? Let’s wait and leave when Jared comes out. I want to see if he really has ten million!”

Delilah shook him off forcefully. “I’m not leaving! I want to see his humiliation!”

Brayden, having no choice, waited.

Ten minutes later, Jared emerged with a large bag of cash. Steel, seeing the bag, immediately approached him with his men. Delilah hurried over, eager to see if Jared had actually withdrawn the money.

Jared was slightly surprised she hadn't left, but didn't dwell on it.

“Where’s the money, kid?” Steel demanded.

Jared tossed the bag to the ground, revealing the cash inside. Steel's lackeys’ eyes gleamed with greed. Delilah was astonished.

“1.3 million is here, not a cent less,” Jared stated calmly.

Steel's lackey lunged for the money, but Steel stopped him.

“Kid, 1.3 million isn’t enough!” He wanted more after learning Jared had ten million.

“What do you mean?” Jared frowned.

“I miscalculated the interest. Principal and interest total two million!” Steel said, smirking slightly.

Jared’s expression turned cold, his eyes blazing with anger.

“Don’t you have ten million, Jared? What’s two million to you? Just withdraw the rest!” Delilah sneered, watching him gloatingly.

Ignoring her, Jared told Steel, “Here’s 1.3 million. If you don’t want it, I’ll redeposit it.” He bent to pick up the money.

“Kid, this money is ours; you can’t touch it!” Steel stepped on the bag. Two lackeys grabbed Jared, but couldn't move him.

Jared coldly gripped their wrists, snapping their bones with a light squeeze. They howled in pain.

“You dared attack my men? You’re asking to die!” Steel kicked at Jared.

“Kill him! Finish him!” Delilah yelled excitedly.

Pow! But Jared’s swift counter-kick sent Steel flying. He then easily disarmed the two remaining lackeys, snapping their arms. Terrified, the last lackey fled.

Jared slowly approached Steel, whose face had gone pale with fear.
