Chapter 133

Joanna rushed into the hospital ward. Bruce, still worried, called Roxanne, but she didn't answer. In the past, she would never ignore his calls. He then called Andy, who answered quickly.

"Hey, Andy!"

"Mr. Everett, what are your instructions?"

"Did you take Roxy home?"

Andy stammered, "Ms. Haynes didn't want to be sent home and insisted on returning alone!"

Bruce realized the drunk girl was Roxanne. Worried about her vulnerability, he said, "It's fine. I'm hanging up!" His unease growing, he drove to the bar to take her home. He wouldn't let anything happen to her.

Meanwhile, the drunk Roxanne had called Gavin to pick her up. By the time Bruce arrived, she was already gone with Gavin. He searched the bar but found her nowhere.

Gavin took Roxanne home. His heart ached as he hugged her. "Roxy, why are you so drunk?"

Roxanne, reeking of alcohol, mumbled dejectedly, "I wanted to drink, so I drank!"

"But you can't drink that much!"

Roxanne smiled foolishly, her arms around Gavin's neck. "Gavin, tell me. Am I annoying?"

"No, you're not. Why do you ask?"

"Then why doesn't he love me?"

Gavin, realizing she meant Bruce, said, "Roxy, you're drunk!"

"I'm not drunk! Gavin, if only Bruce loved me as much as you do!"

Gavin felt a pang of sorrow. Despite their four-year relationship, he couldn't replace Bruce in Roxanne's affections. He knew her love was for another. Their relationship was purely physical.

"Roxy, you're drunk and talking nonsense!"

"I'm not drunk! Why doesn't he love me"

Gavin, angered, blurted, "He doesn't love you, but I do! Marry me!"

Roxanne laughed coldly. "Marry you? Haha, can you even support me? You don't have a decent house or job! You struggle to buy me one handbag! Do you think you can marry me?"

Gavin felt a stab of pain. "Roxy, you've been despising me, haven't you?"

"Yes, how could I respect you? You're a man who lives off a woman! If you weren't handsome, I wouldn't have stayed with you so long."

Enraged, Gavin threw Roxanne onto the bed and tore her clothes.

Roxanne cried out, "Be gentle" He'd always been gentle before, but her drunken honesty, and the crushing of his self-esteem, changed him.

Soon, Roxanne was completely subdued. Gavin, still furious, went outside to smoke.

Bosh and Kurt, along with three thugs, approached him. "Yo, kid, on a date with your girlfriend again?"

Gavin, terrified, dropped his cigarette. "Bosh, Kurt."

"Didn't you say you'd pay us back in three days? Where's the money?"

Gavin stammered, "Bosh, give me a few more days. I'll pay you back!"

The thugs slapped him twice. "This guy's generous with girls, but a coward when it comes to paying debts!"

"You've owed us for so long, and still haven't paid interest!"

"Bosh, Kurt I'm short of money. Please give me a few more days."

"Since you can't pay, let us 'play' with your girlfriend. Consider it interest."

Gavin protested, "No, don't! She's not my girlfriend!"

"Not your girlfriend?"

"We know she's drunk!"

"Pay up, or we're having fun with her!"

The thugs beat Gavin. A dark thought occurred to him: if they ruined Roxanne, she'd be disgraced, the Everetts would reject her, and he'd have a chance with her. He stopped resisting, letting them tie him up.

The five men entered the house. Roxanne, still asleep from her drunken stupor and Gavin's rough treatment, lay on the bed.

"What an amazing body!" the men exclaimed, salivating. "Kurt, you go first"
