Chapter 1286
Doubt lingered regarding Ned's car accident. He also questioned Skylar's changing demeanor. Hadn't she declared him Joe Martin's stand-in? Rosa felt relieved by Ned's silence, believing that leaving Jipsburg would restore things. Back in Murida, she planned to prevent his return. A doctor had suggested Ned might never regain his memories, a development she interpreted as divine intervention, ensuring Joe's permanent stay with her.
The 10:00 a.m. flight departed on time. Skylar waited in the airport lounge for Ned's call, but it never came, confirming her suspicions about his trust. Having calmed down since their last conversation, she left the airport, messaging Jeremy and Aiken about the situation before driving to Galaxy Villa.
Her suitcase was already packed. After taking their wedding photograph, she retrieved some of Joe's favorite pens and his laptop. Her flight to Murida was scheduled for the same time as Ned's departure. After loading everything into her car, she visited Charles.
He was still filming; she waited over half an hour. Charles, though noticing her earlier, remained focused on the crucial scene, requiring multiple takes. Finally, he approached her. "Why the sudden visit? A surprise?" he asked.
Skylar smiled. "Are you?"
"Of course. You haven't had lunch, have you? Let's go," Charles replied, noting the time.

Both siblings were enthusiastic foodies. A new restaurant had captured Charles's attention for days.
"I'm hungry too," Skylar said, following him without specifying their lunch. They both loved stew. Mid-meal, Charles asked, "Skye, something on your mind?"
"I'm flying back to Murida tomorrow; I don't know when I'll return. If anything happens to Mom or Steven, call me immediately," Skylar explained.
Charles frowned. "Back again? Didn't you say there was no rush when you canceled your ticket last time?"
