Several eyes fell on Skylar as she and Paul entered Pearlhall Residence. Skylar spotted Joe first. Dressed in light gray sportswear, he exuded a refreshingly youthful air. He looked at her with a little tenderness, making Skylar wonder if she was imagining things. Perhaps he seemed younger today, or perhaps he was trying to appear lovestruck in front of Gloria.

Not to be outdone, Skylar returned his affectionate gaze. Joe smiled faintly, thinking she was an excellent actress. People who didn't know the truth would believe they were an inseparable couple. Still… his gaze lingered on her loving eyes for a few seconds. When Skylar smiled, her eyes shone like stars, as if she genuinely liked him. He then fell into unconscious thought.

"Come here, Skye," Gloria greeted warmly upon spotting Skylar.

Skylar approached, greeting, "Hello, Grandma."

"You must have met Frank. He mentioned you were restoring his antique painting," Gloria said, introducing Frank as Skylar came closer.

Skylar greeted Frank, "Hello, Mr. Doherty Senior." Then she turned to George, greeting, "Hello, Mr. Querbach."

Frank nodded and smiled at Gloria. "When I first met her, I intended to introduce her to my grandson. I had no idea she was your granddaughter-in-law."

"I couldn't find anyone to restore my painting at that time. Alex is professional and skilled, but even he said he couldn't do it. I didn't expect someone so young to be so talented. Gloria, you're quite lucky to have such a wonderful granddaughter-in-law!"

He felt a pang of regret that he couldn't be related to Skylar. If she were his granddaughter-in-law, he would show her off to everyone. Besides, she could ensure none of his possessions were counterfeit, and she could restore both broken and new antiques.

"Of course, my granddaughter-in-law is exceptional! I don't know how many other women there are, but there's only one Skye!" Gloria said proudly.

After speaking, she glanced at Joe. If he weren't her grandson, she would have considered pairing Skylar with him a waste. Skylar deserved better. After all, Joe had many issues and rarely spoke. Others said he had excellent self-control, but that was actually his one flaw. There was a stark contrast between them; Skylar was definitely superior to Joe.

"Yes, Skye is quite good. Many items I believed to be treasures turned out to be forgeries. Losing money is one thing, but it hurts my feelings to have cherished those things for so long for nothing," George added.

Skylar felt shy under their praise. Though not easily embarrassed, she couldn't handle the repeated compliments from her elders. Moreover, after Gloria's praise, she felt Joe's eyes on her. He seemed to be assessing whether she was as capable as the three elders had claimed.

Skylar glanced at Joe, subtly urging him to stop staring. He raised an eyebrow and walked to her side. Together, they were an eye-catching pair.
