Chapter 247

The three elderly people, particularly Gloria, smiled broadly.

"Let's talk about serious things, Grandma," Joe said.

He expected Gloria to reprimand him if she continued praising Skylar. Her expression shifted quickly when she looked from him to Skylar, revealing her preferences.

Gloria scowled. She hadn't boasted enough! She enjoyed others' envy. In her youth, she had compared herself to her friends, and later, her children and grandchildren to theirs. Now, she was boasting about her granddaughter-in-law!

"Skye, Frank encountered something strange," Gloria said. "He wanted to ask me to contact Viola, but no one knows where she is. Many people in Jipsburg claim to have abilities, but they're all frauds. See if you can handle this matter. If not, I'll find someone else. Don't think too much about it."

Skylar's expression turned serious. "Okay, please go ahead."

Frank nodded. He trusted the people at Pearlhall Residence. He wouldn't air his family's dirty laundry publicly, but he knew it mattered little to his old friends, even if it was shameful.

Joe watched Skylar's increasingly solemn expression. When serious, she possessed a unique brilliance.

"Strange things have been happening at home recently," Frank explained. "My wife, Grace, has been unwell this month and having nightmares. Our great-grandson, Chad, frequently cries and expresses fear. We thought he was spoiled or weakened by recent illnesses. But this morning, Grace and Chad discovered they often have the same nightmares."

Frank's solemnity deepened. His expression showed his astonishment and terror at this unexpected discovery.

Skylar knew little about such evil things, only what she'd readโ€”that people used negative items to achieve goals. But none of this was difficult for Viola.

"Mr. Doherty Senior, did any of your furnishings or belongings suddenly appear in the past month or two?" Skylar asked.

Frank pondered before shaking his head. "Probably not."

"I'm not an expert, but I can go to your house and take a look," Skylar said honestly. "If I can't find the reason, you can find someone else."

"Can we go now?" Frank asked urgently. "Chad will probably start crying again in an hour."

"Okay, let's go," Skylar agreed. They couldn't delay.

"I'll go too," Gloria said, unable to sit still.

"Grandma, wait at home," Skylar said. "If I'm right, you won't be able to bear it." She then looked at George. "Mr. Querbach, please wait here for news."

"Okay," Gloria and George replied. They shouldn't cause trouble.

"I'll go too," Joe said to Skylar.

Skylar nodded. His presence would be helpful.

The two followed Frank out of Pearlhall Residence.

Later, George said to Gloria, "Viola never misjudges people. Skye is very good, but Frank's problem isn't her specialty. If she can't solve it, I'll help Frank find someone else."
