Chapter 570

โ€œSuch an ugly display?โ€ Sabrina repeated, her face contorting with anger. โ€œYouโ€™re nothing compared to Annie. Being with her is a blessing you could never earn in a lifetime!โ€

Unfortunately, Steven was already in the elevator; Sabrina wasn't sure if he'd heard her. Furious, she returned to her car and called Annie.

โ€œSteven is so arrogant and disrespectful. I came to see him, and he dared to show me an attitude! Heโ€™s clearly someone from a humble background whoโ€™s never seen the world. Even if he regrets his actions later, you must not acknowledge him. Do you understand?โ€

Annie, whoโ€™d had insomnia the previous night and only slept three hours before being woken, said, โ€œMom, why didnโ€™t you tell me you were going to see Steven?โ€

Sabrina always preferred handling matters independently, a tendency that often backfired. Several days later, the Silver family was in an irreparable situation, yet Sabrina remained unconcerned.

โ€œDonโ€™t you understand why I was there? Look at whatโ€™s happened to our family! Do you know how dire the situation is? Iโ€™m giving Steven a chance.โ€

โ€œYou should know our previous stanceโ€”we were absolutely against your relationship. But now, as long as he contributes, we will not only approve but also hold a wedding,โ€ Sabrina said smugly.

Annie was speechless. โ€œMom, since Steven broke up with me, he wonโ€™t come back. Heโ€™s not interested in being a wealthy familyโ€™s son-in-law. Your visit will only make him more certain he made the right choice. Who would dare approach me now, given our familyโ€™s situation?

โ€œAnd do you think other wealthy families would accept me? Mom, let go of your pride. We might end up worse than the Williams family. If it werenโ€™t for that night, Steven might have forgiven me, but nowโ€ฆ

โ€œLetโ€™s forget it; itโ€™s impossible. I suggest you and Dad leave Jipsburg as soon as possible,โ€ Annie said calmly.

Sabrina stubbornly insisted, โ€œOur family is different from the Williams family. They have barely any foundation in Jipsburg, while ours is large and well-established across many industries. We canโ€™t possibly collapse.โ€

It was clear Sabrina didnโ€™t want to leave Jipsburg; she was accustomed to its grandeur and couldnโ€™t tolerate more modest surroundings.

โ€œAlright, Iโ€™ll let you and Dad continue to deceive yourselves,โ€ Annie said resignedly.

Sabrina retorted, โ€œWhat do you mean, โ€˜deceive yourselvesโ€™? Fine, I donโ€™t want to waste time arguing. Iโ€™m warning youโ€”if Steven contacts you, you must not acknowledge him. Do you understand?โ€

โ€œMom, youโ€™re overthinking it.โ€

Minutes later, while getting ready, Annie hesitated before sending Steven a message: โ€œSorry, I didnโ€™t know my mom went to see you.โ€

The message failed; Steven had blocked her. When in love, he was wholly dedicated; however, once he decided to end a relationship, he did so decisively, leaving no room for reconciliation.

Annie looked at her pale reflection, realizing everything started with her possessiveness over Joe, leading to actions she regretted. The situation had spiraled out of control.

The future seemed bleak, obscured like mist on a mirror. She knew what lay ahead would be challenging.

Meanwhile, the Williams family was also in disarray.
