Chapter 600

Natalie's face drained of color. They both realized something afterward, glancing at the door simultaneously. Seeing her pallor, Austin's expression turned somber. He put away his book, walked over, and said, "Natalie, I'll handle this. You don't have to worry."

Natalie's mind was blank. "I didn't know he would ask you," she replied. "I'm sorry. I didn't handle my own affairs properly and dragged you into this."

"This has nothing to do with you," Hank consoled her.

This concerned Austin's career—a more serious issue than they'd anticipated.

"I'm sorry," Natalie repeated, overwhelmed with guilt. She knew how important Austin's acting career was to him. As a longtime fan, she knew better than anyone how he'd achieved his success. Yet, everything he'd built could be destroyed because of her.

Austin frowned. "It's not that serious," he said soothingly. "You don't need to apologize. This has nothing to do with you."

Hank rubbed his nose. How could it not involve Natalie? If Austin hadn't been involved with Natalie, would Jeremy have acted against him? Everything happened for a reason.

Natalie shook her head, murmuring, "Sorry, I'll leave now." She ran off; Austin couldn't stop her.

"Who knows how Jeremy would treat Natalie?" Hank said. "I don't understand. Men who cheat usually don't care about their wives anymore. Why do I feel like Jeremy cares deeply about Natalie? If he loved her, why would he cheat? Just for the thrill of a new relationship?"

As a man, he understood.

Austin's face grew serious. Turning to Hank, he asked, "When did you become so talkative?"

"I've always been like this. You knew that."

"From now on, shut up."

Silence fell.

Natalie took a cab to Hughes Group. She could count her previous visits on two hands! Once, she'd visited with anticipation and love; this time, she came with anger and uncontrollable hatred.

"Mrs. Hughes?"

The employees were surprised to see her. They rarely saw her in the office in the mornings, as Jeremy was usually in meetings at that hour.

Natalie found the title ironic. "I'm looking for Mr. Hughes," she told them. "You don't need to follow me."

"Alright."

Natalie took the elevator directly to Jeremy's office. She was livid, but she wouldn't make a scene while he was in a meeting. Jeremy could be as shameless as he liked, but she wouldn't stoop to his level.
