Chapter 601

When Natalie arrived at Jeremy’s imposing CEO’s office, she surveyed it with a hint of sarcasm, imagining countless scenes of Jeremy and Annabelle’s passionate encounters in that very room.

Half an hour later, Jeremy finished his meeting and learned Natalie was waiting. He returned quickly. Natalie turned as he entered, closing the door behind him. Her expression was cold. “Jeremy, you never cease to shock me. No matter your ruthless business tactics or immoral personal affairs, you had no right to involve innocent people around me. Our issues were always between us. You betrayed our marriage!”

Seeing her anger, Jeremy’s face tightened, his muscles tensing. “Did you come here just for Austin?”

Natalie’s eyes flashed with disdain. “If not for this, I’d never set foot in here again.” She pointed at the couch. “Do you know why I waited half an hour without sitting? Because I can imagine how you and Annabelle… used this office.”

Jeremy’s face paled; his veins bulged. “Nath, the past is over.”

“No, the traces remain. Your affair with Annabelle is etched in my mind. No matter who you target, or how you try to force me home, it won’t change that I find you disgusting. Just being in your office disgusts me. We can never go back. Don’t mess with my friends. If anything happens to them, I’ll never forgive you.” Natalie pressed her lips together, her face flushed with rage.

Jeremy’s face was ashen, his hands clenched into fists. “As long as you resign, it doesn’t matter whether you come home or not.” He could only concede that much.

“Jeremy, you’re despicable! Do you know what you’re taking from me? My only passion for life!” Natalie yelled, her eyes red. “I just realized you never truly understood me. You only love yourself! Did you think I’d rely on you because I lost my job? That I could only survive depending on you?”

She deeply regretted falling in love with and marrying him.

Jeremy’s brow furrowed. “It’s not as you think. Do you know Austin likes you? I won’t allow anyone to keep you close just to possess you.”

Natalie gave a self-deprecating smile. “Jeremy, don’t make me a joke. Mr. Powell only sees me as a fan. He could never have those intentions. Do you think everyone is as obsessed as you are? Mr. Powell is solely focused on his acting.”

“Natalie, you don’t understand men at all,” Jeremy’s forehead twitched with anger. She was too naive to realize how well men hid their true nature, and how wicked people could be. “You don’t understand men. Listen to me. Stay away from Austin. No matter what you want to do next, I can support you.” His voice was low and serious.

Natalie felt suffocated. “Jeremy, I hate you!” The words she’d been about to say vanished. It was useless.

She turned and left decisively. “Nath…” Jeremy reached out, trying to grab her. Natalie sidestepped and ran out, as if he were a monstrous threat.

Jeremy felt her intense resistance and disdain. His affair with Annabelle had been a devastating blow. After a long while, his expression returned to normal. He called Tristan. “There’s no need to continue blacklisting Austin.” He believed Natalie would understand someday.

“Understood.”

When Skylar received Natalie’s call, silence filled the line. “Nath, where are you?” Skylar asked.
