Maisy watched impassively as Kenny was tortured and beaten; it was retribution, a mirror to her own suffering.

At dinner, Skylar and Joe discussed their upcoming visit to the Yancey Residence. Skylar was surprised by Joe's quick agreement. "Are you okay with this weekend?" she asked, checking the group chat. Steven, Charles, and Harvey would all be there. Joe readily agreed. Skylar then informed the group that she would bring a guest and make an important announcement. Steven welcomed the guest; Janine and Charles were puzzled, but everyone agreed to welcome whoever Skylar brought. Janine considered preparing a special meal. Skylar knew their curiosity would be piqued.

Just then, the doorbell rang. Visitors were rare at Galaxy Villa; Pearlhall Residence staff usually came during the day, and Paul and Lucas typically waited outside for Joe. Skylar looked at Joe, who was equally perplexed. He went to the door. His expression darkened upon seeing the visitor on the intercom.

"Who is it? A friend? Should I stay out of sight?" Skylar asked, setting down her phone.

"No need. It's Jenny," Joe replied, opening the door.

Skylar's expression shifted. "Jenny?"

"Yes."

Jenny entered, offering a sweet greeting. "Joe. Skylar." Skylar acknowledged her.

"I was visiting a friend nearby," Jenny explained. "Rowan told me you've been living at Galaxy Villa since your marriage, so I decided to drop by."

Her familiarity with the villa suggested previous visits. She quickly changed into slippers, seating herself on the couch. Initially nervous, Jenny noticed Joe and Skylar in matching loungewear—unlike anything she'd seen him wear before. As a fashion design student, she immediately recognized the inexpensive fabric. She found Joe's attire childish and, masking her doubts and jealousy, pursed her lips, pretending not to notice.

Casually placing a bag on the table, she said, "I baked cookies today, using only a little sugar. Joe, you used to say you liked them. See if you think they've improved. Skylar, you should try one too."

Skylar glanced at Joe, who sat beside her, then at the beautifully packaged cookies. The rose-shaped cookies showed skill and attention to detail. Despite her own limited baking abilities, she politely replied, "They look delightful."
