Chapter 633

Skylar guessed Molly's motives for the meeting. Gloria and Joe barely mentioned Joe's mother. When Joe was born two decades prior, Molly was already with Edwin. A complicated story lay behind it, one in which Joe was a victim.

The moment Skylar crossed the threshold, she was enveloped in a warm embrace, followed by a kiss. Before she could speak, Joe carried her upstairs. Between breaths, he murmured, "Hold me." Skylar wrapped her arms around his neck, and Joe immediately pulled her closer.

After a while, they finished. Joe led Skylar to the bathroom. Following their bath and a change into pajamas, Skylar felt her strength return.

"I'll make two bowls of pasta," she said.

Skylar started downstairs, but Joe caught her hand. "There's no need to rush," he said. "Pearlhall Residence will be bringing us dinner. They've probably already placed it in the dining room."

Joe had been unusually clingy that day. As he spoke, he hugged Skylar again.

Skylar smiled. "Aren't you hungry?" she asked.

"I just ate," he replied.

Skylar blushed. "Well, so am I," she admitted.

Joe's mood seemed brighter. He leaned down, nibbled her ear, and whispered, "Haven't I been working hard? It's my fault for not satisfying you." His hands moved lower.

Skylar, startled, pushed him away. "You've been working hard, and you're amazing, alright? You've done nothing wrong. It's all my fault. I'm starving!" She wouldn't be having dinner if they did it again.

When Skylar went downstairs, Joe followed. Dinner, as expected, was set out by the Pearlhall Residence staff.

Skylar checked the time. It was 10:00 PM. She considered their three-hour session after arriving home.

She opened the food containers. "I wonder when they arrived," she said to Joe. "The dishes are cool. I'll heat them up."

Joe checked his phone. "They got here an hour ago," he replied.

Hearing that, Skylar froze. An hour ago, she and Joe were still in bed. No one had been home, and she hadn't been quiet.

"Our marriage has been officiated," Joe stated openly. "It's normal for a married couple to do whatever we want at home."

Even if the Pearlhall Residence staff had heard anything, they would have likely pretended otherwise. Skylar marveled at Joe's boldness. She dropped the subject, sat down, and began to eat. Joe followed suit.
