Chapter 635
Hank raised an eyebrow. "Why do you think that?"
Austin replied, "I don't know."
"Do you think she yielded to Jeremy to protect your career? Look, the organizers who canceled your events the past few days have been profusely apologizing. Your work has remained virtually unaffected."
Austin's expression was somber. "I don't think so. She'd rather lose her job than compromise with Jeremy. There must be another reason."
What had Jeremy done?
Hank was utterly dumbfounded. "Let it go," he said. "If we can't figure it out, let's not waste our time. Natalie's a smart woman. She knows what she's doing and won't be easily swayed."
Hank no longer wished to dwell on it. It was inconsequential to him. Austin, however, was in a different situation. Hank sensed a shift in Austin's mood.
After dropping Natalie off, Austin looked extremely displeased. Clearly, Natalie's forgiveness of Jeremy was unwelcome news. Hank confirmed his suspicion: Austin was indeed interested in Natalie; perhaps he had been from the start.
"But most of your work is still in Jipsburg," Hank advised. "Fighting for Jeremy's wife will be seen as a challenge to him. You won't gain anything! Why not pursue someone else? If you want a girlfriend, countless women are vying for your attention."
He'd been worried about Austin lately. Natalie was excellent, except for being married.
Austin glared. "Shut up," he scolded.
Hank's lips twitched; he rolled his eyes. "Alright, I'll shut up. Is that better?"
He'd prepare some PR plans – the least he could do. He'd help Austin focus on his overseas career. There probably wasn't another agent in Jipsburg who would dedicate this much effort.
Austin ignored him, staring out the window. Few people were on the streets; only two or three occasionally passed by.
He remained silent for ten minutes, then browsed his WhatsApp messages with Natalie. Natalie was like the sun, bringing warmth whenever they spoke. "That foolish woman," Austin sighed inwardly.
Outside Galaxy Villa, a figure hid behind a tree, his gaze fixed on the mansion as if he could see through the blinds. It was Christopher. He looked up at the bedrooms; only one room was lit. Then, it dimmed. Christopher's spirits plummeted.
Skylar and Joe were in that bedroom.
The thought of Skylar sharing a bed with Joe ignited a murderous glint in Christopher's eyes. If Maisy hadn't deliberately seduced him, causing him to betray Skylar, they would be married now, happily living together. Instead, Skylar was in bed with another man, seemingly content and in love. The thought filled him with regret and agony.
"Skylar, I've returned," he vowed silently. "I won't let you leave me again. I'll shower you with love if you come back to me!"
The next day, Gloria asked Skylar to visit her at Pearlhall Residence.
