“If Joe realizes we were behind this, can we still leave Jipsburg?” the masked man asked.

The person on the line must have reassured him. He calmed down, though cruelty flickered in his eyes. After ending the call, he said, “There’s no turning back. We need to film a blackmail video to keep her quiet. Hurry. Give her the medicine.”

One of the men, incredibly cowardly, questioned, “Will this work? Won’t he find us? Are we truly hidden?” They wouldn’t have worried about anyone else, but Joe was different. They needed to reconsider. If they weren't careful, their lives could be ruined. They wouldn't sacrifice everything for a woman like her.

The masked man glared at Skylar. “Even if he finds us, we’ll have no time for regrets. Remember the money in your accounts. Time’s running out; they want the video immediately.” He pulled a box of pills from a bag and tossed them to the men, instructing, “Give it to her.”

All wore masks; Skylar couldn't see their expressions. She paled as they poured out the pills.

After Molly hung up, she knocked on the study door. Edwin, busy with work, replied, “Come in.”

“It’s arranged. They’ll send the video soon. Skylar will be leaving, whether she wants to or not,” Molly said promptly.

A smile touched Edwin’s lips. “You’re always so capable. Remind them to be careful; leave no trace.”

“Don’t worry. They’re well-hidden, leaving no evidence. They’ve done this many times. However, Skylar will suffer.” Though Molly expressed concern for Skylar's suffering, her expression remained nonchalant. She'd seen countless girls like Skylar endure unimaginable horrors. They couldn't fight back; their lives were controlled by powerful people like Molly. It wasn't that Molly hadn't given Skylar a chance; she'd simply been too young and too greedy.

Chapter 637

Edwin narrowed his eyes. “She deserves it. With her background, she’ll bring trouble to Joe. Remarrying him, she should have anticipated the consequences.”

As they spoke, Edwin received a call from Aiken. He frowned. Molly rarely inquired about Edwin's affairs; she knew her place. Yet, seeing his expression, she asked casually, “Scam calls?”

“It’s Aiken,” Edwin replied.

Molly was surprised. “Why would he call?”

Edwin was equally confused. “Perhaps he regrets his decision and wants to take my case.”

“Possible. But he’s too late. If he’d called sooner, I’d have used him. We’d have less to worry about,” Molly said. Fate was certainly unpredictable.

Aiken explained his call: “Mr. Martin, I need to know if Skylar’s abduction is connected to you.”

Edwin's expression hardened. “Why do you ask?”

“Skylar saved me. Something’s happened to her, and I’ll find her no matter what. Whoever hurt her will become my enemy. If you’re not involved, I’ll take a different approach,” Aiken said, his voice chillingly cruel.
