Chapter 688
Although young, Aiken posed a formidable threat. Edwin felt a migraine approaching after Aiken's statement. He hissed through gritted teeth, "It has nothing to do with me." Ending the call, he slammed his phone on the table.
Molly was stunned. "Darling, what's going on?" she asked.
"Did Skylar give Aiken a love potion? She got him to help her! He asked if Skylar's disappearance involved me. If not, he'd take another approach."
"What does he mean? Is he threatening me? Testing my involvement? He's just a kid who took over the Parkinson family months ago. How dare he threaten me!" Edwin raged.
Molly's expression shifted. "How did he find out so quickly?" she asked. She believed Aiken wouldn't have called without evidence pointing toward Edwin. Aiken was usually cautious.
"Joe must have contacted him," Edwin complained. "Does he know what he's doing? She's just a plain woman. Does he need to cause such a commotion?"
Molly voiced her concern, "Should we ask them to stop?"
"Why would we? Don't stop them! Wait. They're not capable enough to find Skylar. Even if they found her, they couldn't reverse what's happened. It's time Joe faced the consequences of disobeying me," Edwin said.
Molly was speechless.
Aiken spat out and extinguished his cigarette. Smoke swirled around him. The air seemed to thicken with a darkness born of his illegal activities. He ordered, "Look into Molly Frost."
Simona learned of Skylar's disappearance from Caleb. Many knew Skylar had been kidnapped. Her friends were mobilizing family resources and connections to find her.
Chapter 688
Simona panicked, running to Aiken. "You have to find Skylar, no matter what! If not for Skylar, I'd be finished. We owe her. I can't watch anything happen to her! Aiken, promise me you won't let anything happen to her. Find her as soon as possible! If I find out who kidnapped her, I'll make their life a living hell."
Aiken looked at his distraught sister. "Don't worry. I will do everything I can to find her," he stated coldly.
Even without his participation, Joe, using various methods, would find her. He'd even told others about their relationship to aid the search. Clearly, Joe adored her.
Jenny's fever recurred daily, spiking alarmingly at night. Three or four days passed without improvement. Jenny grew scared. After taking her temperature, she called Howard, but he didn't answer. Joe didn't answer either. She called Paul, who did answer.
"I just took my temperature. I still have a fever. I think something's wrong. Could you ask Joe to come over?"
Paul replied coldly, "Mr. Martin is busy. You should call emergency services." He hung up immediately.
In the past, even without Joe's presence, Paul and Howard had always answered promptly, assisting her. They'd never dismissed her and told her to call emergency services.
On the phone, she overheard someone mention news of Mrs. Martin.
Mrs. Martin? Were they referring to Skylar?
