Chapter 803

Caleb found it coincidental that they were all on the same flight. Aiken shared his surprise, having unexpectedly encountered Skylar, Joe, and Caleb on the return trip.

Joe's greeting to Aiken was a curt nod, his gaze cool. Skylar, however, greeted Aiken with a smile, addressing him as "Mr. Parkinson."

Aiken responded, "Mr. Martin, Ms. Sullivan, Caleb, what a coincidence." Despite sensing a barely perceptible hostility in Joe's demeanor, Aiken remained calm.

They exchanged brief words, with Caleb and Aiken conversing most extensively. Soon, it was time to board.

The flight passed with little conversation. Aiken and Caleb departed first, assuming Skylar and Joe would return home together. They were unaware Skylar had moved out of the Galaxy Villa, and the couple were living separately.

After retrieving her luggage, Skylar informed Joe, "I'll take the airport shuttle. It goes directly to where I'm staying."

Paul overheard, silently exclaiming, "What the hell? They're still not back together?" Despite their subdued interactions on the plane, Paul questioned their continued separation. This was a significant problem. Fate, he mused, had intervened—Joe's illness, their shared hotel stay—yet reconciliation hadn't occurred.

Joe's lips tightened, his eyes narrowing with barely suppressed anger. He emphasized each word, stating, "We're not divorced yet."

Skylar replied, "Getting divorced now or later makes no difference. Take care of yourself. I'm leaving." She began to walk away, pulling her suitcase.

A moment's hesitation lingered; she wondered if Joe's actions stemmed from a desire to salvage their marriage, to prevent her from living separately. Then, her suitcase was abruptly yanked from her grasp.

Looking up, she saw Joe holding it. "Come back to Galaxy Villa with me," he commanded. "Grandma's coming tomorrow. Give your keys to Paul; he'll bring your things." He was clearly using Gloria's visit as a pretext.

Upon hearing about Gloria's impending visit, Skylar acquiesced, handing her keys and address to Paul. Paul's lips twitched slightly as he looked at the key. It was evident Joe still harbored feelings for Skylar and didn't want a divorce. Paul wondered why Joe couldn't be kinder; his demeanor suggested indifference, no wonder Skylar had left.

In the car, Aiken received a photo from a subordinate, depicting him and Skylar at the fondue restaurant. He smiled. The message continued, "Mr. Parkinson, someone took a photo of you with Ms. Sullivan, and they're investigating her background. Should I stop them?"

Aiken's gaze hardened. He immediately called, instructing, "Stop them from finding anything on Skylar. Handle the person directly. Report any further attempts to target her immediately."

"Yes, Mr. Parkinson," came the reply.

At Galaxy Villa, Paul arrived efficiently, forty minutes later. Skylar's belongings from her apartment had been returned. She looked at the pile, a slight twitch of exasperation playing on her lips, then glanced at the cheerfully smiling Paul.
