Chapter 137
Amber shook her head, cheeks flushed. “I couldn’t sleep, so I came out for a little walk. I’m going back to bed now!”
With that, her little legs pumped as she dashed back to her room, slamming the door shut with a loud bang. Sienna let out a sigh and bent down to pick up the report card lying on the floor.
Looking at the tenth-place result, a soft sigh escaped Sienna as she rubbed her forehead. “Silly girl.”
Back in her room, Sienna picked up the phone and called Lana. “Lana, buy a yacht. Make sure Amber’s name is on it, and make it pink. That’s her favorite color.”
“Understood, Miss Enna,” Lana nodded.
Amber hurried back to her room, burrowing under the covers like she could hide from reality. But after a while, she realized her report card was missing.
In a panic, Amber rushed back out, spotted it on the floor, and let out a sigh of relief before quickly snatching it up. She shot a quick glance at Sienna’s room, thinking she probably hadn’t noticed.
The next day, Amber woke up to find that Sienna had already finished breakfast and was sitting on the couch, reading the news. Just as Amber was about to head out, Sienna called out to her.
“Amber, wait. Take a look at this,” Sienna said, handing her a photo.
Amber took it and gasped–it was a beautiful pink yacht. “What’s this?” she asked, her eyes wide.
“You’ve improved so much this time, it really surprised me. This is a gift for you. Do you like it?” Sienna asked, smiling warmly.
Amber glanced down and noticed the purchase receipt on the table. The total amount left her stunned, yet incredibly excited. “How did you know about…?” Amber blurted out, her voice full of surprise and confusion.
“Wait a second–was it last night? Oh no, she totally saw it! What if she thinks I left it there on purpose?” Amber thought, her cheeks burning hot as embarrassment washed over her.
“Your teacher called and told me–you’ve really improved a lot,” Sienna said gently.
Amber felt a weight lift off her shoulders, her nerves finally settling down.
“Well, I was just doing my usual, it’s really nothing special. I can do even better next time,” Amber said, trying to sound casual. “Anyway, I really, really love the gift. I have to get to school now. Thank you, Sienna.”
Amber whispered the last words—“Thank you, Sienna”—so softly that her whole face turned bright red. Clutching the photo, she dashed away. She couldn’t wait to show Claire the gift she’d just received.
And after school today, Amber was determined to find a bodyguard–someone super badass–who could protect Sienna.
Mia Carter had been waiting for a long time but hadn’t heard any announcements or reprimands from the teachers. She had reported Amber for cheating, yet there was no response. The rankings remained unchanged.
Mia had no idea that her report had already been tossed in the trash. This school was strict, and cheating just didn’t happen here. The school would never punish an innocent person.
Mia had spent the whole day waiting for some sort of response, but nothing came. She was so frustrated. Then, suddenly, an idea struck her. It would be the perfect way to get back at Amber.
Mia decided to have her cousin scare Amber. She couldn’t stand how arrogant Amber was, and she was determined to crush her confidence and put her in her place.
“What if she comes from a powerful family like the Hans?” Mia scoffed to herself, jealousy burning in her chest. “The teachers and the principal are always protecting her. It’s so unfair. Just wait. One day, when I make it, I'll bring Hart Corporation down.”
