Chapter 290
Without hesitation, Winifred stuck out her leg and kicked Thom away. โWhat the hell do you think youโre doing?โ she snapped, her voice icy.
โWho does this guy think he is, trying to get all up in Siennaโs space? Seriously, some people just donโt know their place,โ Winifred thought, fuming.
The kick sent Thorn stumbling backward. Feeling the wound on his chest throb, he shut his eyes and instantly faked a blackout.
Winifred blinked in disbelief. Seriously? No way. โIs this guy really that fragile?โ she thought, dumbfounded.
Sheโd totally held back with that kick. Winifred frowned. โSienna, heโโ
Sienna just shot him a cool, disinterested glance, her voice laced with disdain. โLooks like heโs hopeless. Toss him out. I donโt want him dying in our house.โ
โHeyโโ Thorn sprang up at her words, waving his hands in a panic. โIโm good. Just got the wind knocked out of me for a sec.โ
As he spoke, Thorn got up and scooted right over to Sienna.
Sienna paid Thorn no mind and took a seat on the couch.
Thorn immediately plopped down next to her, pointing at Kress with a look of righteous indignation. โItโs all his fault. If Kress hadnโt stuck his foot out and tripped me, I wouldnโt have fallen toward you, and Winifred wouldnโt have kicked me.
โUh, Sienna, last time, when I saved Mr. Ford, I didnโt think much of it, but now my chest really hurts. Do you want to check it out?โ
Kress just stood there, speechless. โHeโs really lying through his teeth,โ he thought.
Winifred was equally stunned. โWow, is this guy the ultimate drama queen or what?โ she wondered.
Sienna slapped his hand away, sounding annoyed. โWhat are you doing here?โ
Thorn wasnโt fazed by her icy attitude at all. He just cocked his head and shot Kress a provocative glance.
โSienna, youโre so heartless. How can you just use me and toss me aside? Did you forget? Last time, in that room, we really got to know each other,โ he teased, his tone full of mischief.
Sienna fixed him with a deadpan stare, her eyes cold and razor-sharp. โAre you looking to die?โ
Thorn instantly shut up and turned to the servant. โBring me some water.โ
โHi, Sienna?โ Before anyone appeared, a voice rang out. Josef walked in, carrying a bag. โSienna, youโre here. My dad asked me to bring this for you. Itโs all food.โ
Josef flashed a toothy smile, spotting Thorn and a beautiful woman with long blue hair. The other person he recognized was Winifred.
โThanks,โ Sienna said, taking the bag and handing it to Ebert. Josef turned to Winifred and greeted her with a friendly smile. โHey, Winifred. Iโm Josef.โ
Winifred just nodded, her attitude distant.
โSienna, is he your boyfriend?โ Josef asked, curiosity written all over his face. Just one look at Thorn and one could tell he was some flashy, rich playboy from overseas, handsome and a bit flamboyant.
Thorn lit up at the question. He immediately stood up and reached out to shake Josefโs hand. โIโmโโ
However, before he could finish, Sienna cut him off. โNo, heโs not.โ
Josef nodded. โThen that must mean this pretty ladyโs boyfriend, right?โ
โPretty lady? Who?โ they wondered. Everyone froze for a second, and it took Kress a moment to realize Josef was talking about him.
Kressโs eyes went wide, and he jumped up, fuming. โWho are you calling a pretty lady?โ
Realizing it was a guy talking, Josef froze for a couple of seconds, then gave an awkward laugh and quickly apologized. โUh, my bad. I messed up. Sorry.โ
Kress was about to blow a fuse, but since the guy was Siennaโs cousin and seemed genuinely sorry, he couldnโt really make a fuss without looking petty.
โNext time, pay more attention,โ Kress grumbled, still fuming.
Winifred couldnโt help but tease, โHey, pretty lady, mind moving over a bit?โ
