Chapter 47
Vivian was like a caged beast now. Sheโd lash out recklessly at anyone who came near her.
Sienna gently cupped Vivianโs face in both hands, gazing into her terrified eyes. โVivian, itโs okay,โ she soothed. โItโs me, Sienna.โ
Vivian stared blankly at Sienna, dazed. After what felt like an eternity, recognition finally dawned in her eyes. In a weak whisper, she called out, โSienna?โ
Sienna signaled for Lana and Reno to release Vivian. Though hesitant, they let go, and Vivian immediately threw herself into Siennaโs arms, sobbing, โSienna?โ
Sienna gently stroked Vivianโs head and softly ran her hand down her back. โItโs me. Donโt be scared,โ she whispered soothingly. โVivian, tell me, whatโs wrong?โ
โSienna, they didnโt touch me. They didnโt.โ Vivian let out a heart-wrenching scream.
Sienna just held her tight, silent and unwavering.
Jason administered the sedative injection.
Vivian gradually grew limp, and within moments, passed out in Siennaโs arms.
After sending Vivian to bed, Sienna commanded icily, โGet Anya here.โ
Anya had just finished dressing the bite wound on her arm when Sienna arrived. She hurried over. โMiss Sienna, Iโm so sorry. This is all my fault. I shouldnโt have taken Vivian to the conference.โ
Sienna glanced at the wound on her arm and stepped aside. โTell me exactly what happened, from the beginning,โ she demanded.
Anya had striking crimson hair and wore a tailored suit that accentuated her slender yet curvaceous figure. She pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose as she said, โMiss Sienna, I stayed with Vivian throughout the business conference.
โWe never left each otherโs side. She showed no signs of distress during the event. But after we left and got in the car, she took a phone call, and within half an hour, she had a complete mental breakdown. I rushed her to the hospital immediately.โ
โShe took a phone call!โ Sienna cut in, zeroing in on the key detail.
โYes, Miss Sienna. When I pulled the car around, the call had already ended. I admit I failed to notice Vivianโs expression at that moment,โ Anya explained.
โReno?โ Sienna commanded.
Reno immediately got the hint. She pulled up her laptop and, in no time, tracked down the person behind the call to Vivian. โMiss Sienna, this guyโs called Dash, a notorious punk from Weststreet. He usually stays atโฆโ
Sienna commanded sharply. โLetโs go.โ
Anya tried to join them, but Lana stopped her and said, โYou stay here with Miss Vivian. Call us immediately if anything happens.โ
Lana and Reno eagerly followed. Anya finally stopped in her tracks. When Jason returned to the ward, he saw a red-haired woman. Frowning, he walked in and asked, โWho are you?โ
Just one look and Jason froze. โDamn, she is so stunning,โ he wondered.
Her perfectly tailored black suit hugged her curves, the jacket straining slightly across her ample chest. Gold-rimmed glasses perched elegantly on her petite face and high-bridged nose.
Behind the lenses, her eyes gleamed with intelligence and a razor-sharp edge, radiating the allure of a mature woman. Her long, silky crimson hair cascaded smoothly over her shoulders, each strand shimmering faintly in the light.
Her immaculate yet subtle makeup complemented her poised demeanor, a perfect balance of sophistication and seriousness.
Jason was an avid anime fan, and to him, this woman looked like an elite queen straight out of an anime. Her presence wasnโt as icy and formidable as Siennaโs, but she was still nothing to scoff at.
Anya sized up the man before her, her tone cool and clipped. โIโm her supervisor. Is there something you need?โ
Jason withdrew his gaze. โIโm the doctor. Whereโs Sienna? I need to discuss Vivianโs condition with her.โ
Anya folded her arms across her chest, her injured hand not bothering her in the least. โMiss Sienna is handling something right now. Youโll have to wait.โ
โOh, so youโre Vivianโs supervisor? Whatโs your name?โ Jason asked.
Anya said icily, โI donโt owe you my name.โ
Jason was speechless for a moment.
