Chapter 159: I Will Spend This Night With You
Once Stella finished speaking, she retrieved her phone and sent Sean their location.
Inside the mansion, Vivian retrieved a hidden camera. โCeci, you always have a solution. You knew she wouldn't apologize publicly, so you recorded her apology.โ She played the video. It clearly showed Stella apologizing for plagiarism and admitting to bribery.
โI know her well. She appears adaptable, but itโs all for her benefit. Unless necessary, she won't apologize publicly. Iโll post this online now.โ
Vivian was excited, but Cecilia cautioned, โDonโt rush. Itโs not the right time yet.โ Stella was immensely popular; releasing the video now might only damage her reputation, while potentially inviting retaliation against Vivian.
โIโll listen to you,โ Vivian agreed.
As Cecilia considered their next move, her phone rang. It was Calvin. His voice, rich and magnetic, filled the phone, โCeci, Iโm boarding the plane; Iโll arrive in Tudela at eleven tonight.โ
โAll right.โ
Eleven? Cecilia wasn't sure she could pick him up. Meanwhile, Calvin, gazing at the sky, held his phone tightly.
โYour birthday is tomorrow, isnโt it?โ
Cecilia was surprised. Sheโd almost forgotten.
โYeah.โ
โIโll spend this night with you,โ Calvin said.
After a moment, Cecilia replied, โOkay. Iโll pick you up. Iโm at a friendโs house.โ
Calvin asked, โWonโt that disturb your friend?โ
Cecilia glanced at Vivian, who was listening nearby and shook her head. โNot at all. Let him come over.โ Vivian, having only seen Calvin from afar a few times, found him exceptionally handsome, almost satyr-like in his charm.
โShe said itโs fine and invited you.โ
โAll right, then. Iโll hang up now. See you tonight.โ
A subtle smile touched Calvinโs lips. As he settled into his private jet, the doctor examined his wounds. โAvoid strenuous activity. Take it easy in Tudela, or the wound could reopen and become infected,โ he warned.
โGot it.โ
Calvin gazed out at the clouds, clutching a small, exquisitely crafted box. He had never anticipated a meeting so eagerly.
After hanging up, Cecilia considered how to handle Nathaniel.
Vivian shrugged. โJust text him. Youโre not his slave.โ
โYouโre right.โ In the past, Nathaniel simply texted Cecilia without consulting her.
Cecilia composed a text: "I'm with my best friend. I won't be home tonight."
A cold look crossed Nathanielโs face. His chilling aura silenced the executives in his conference room, causing them to fearfully reassess their work.
โCarry on!โ Nathaniel announced, leaving the room.
