Chapter 361: It Was Protection

Inside a hotel room, two people watched a live broadcast of the events unfolding downstairs. Mason was utterly bewildered. "Why is Jonathan suddenly Vivian's son?"

After arriving in Tudela, Nathaniel had asked people to keep an eye on Cecilia. He explained to Mason that it wasn't stalking, but protection. Therefore, he had bodyguards filming everything downstairs.

Nathaniel wasn't surprised by Mason's question; they were best friends, after all. Vivian borrowing her son seemed quite normal to him. He considered making an entrance but hesitated, still unsure of the situation. He mused, "She can borrow Cecilia's son, but not her husband. I don't want to be another woman's husband."

He instructed Mason, "Go take care of this." A friend of Cecilia's was a friend of his. He couldn't allow his friend to be bullied.

"Understood," replied Mason.

Meanwhile, at the wedding banquet, the commotion at the entrance startled the guests. They turned to watch. Astonished, Ernest helped his mother, Greta, to her feet.

Greta was also surprised that Vivian had a son at her age, immediately making her resistant to the idea. After all, her son had dated Vivian, and even though Ernest had just gotten married, Vivian already had a child. Greta remembered their last meeting, six years prior. The boy before her appeared to be about four years old, fueling her anger at Vivian's continued pursuit of Ernest.

"The wealthiest and most influential man in Tudela? What a joke! I think your mother's been feeding you lies," Greta said, pointing at Jonathan. "Did your father abandon you? Is that why she's clinging to my son? Let me tell you, my son won't be anyone's substitute."

Greta's words were harsh. Jonathan felt anxious. During the confrontation between Cecilia and Greta, he'd contacted the young man he'd hired, who'd assured him he was on his way, but still hadn't arrived.

By then, Mason had reached the ground floor. Hearing Greta's words, he felt a surge of anger. He was about to intervene when he suddenly halted, sensing the situation was no longer his to manage.

Then, impeccably dressed in a dark grey suit, Zachary entered, surrounded by bodyguards. "Am I not considered the most powerful man in Tudela?" he asked. "Who said I don't want my son?"

Upon seeing Cecilia, he faltered. Why was Cecilia there?

Cecilia was also surprised by Zachary's arrival. Didn't he already know Jonathan wasn't his son?

Vivian was even more stunned. The man Jonathan had found, supposedly superior to Ernest, was Zachary? Why him?

Ernest immediately recognized Zachary. His mother, however, did not. "Who are you?" she asked.

A perceptive relative answered, "Isn't he Mr. Sinclair? He's the scion of the Sinclair family, which owns the largest medical institution in the country."

Zachary's claim of being the most influential man in Tudela was justified.

Greta was completely taken aback. Zachary ignored her, walking straight to Vivian and taking her hand. "I told you, there's no need to attend your ex-boyfriend's wedding. Yet, you, being a big dummy, didn't get the hint. You kept talking about etiquette, saying it would be impolite not to go after receiving the invitation. People aren't showing you any courtesy now, are they?"

Holding Vivian's hand, she found unexpected courage. Smiling, she said, "I was ignorant. I misjudged him."

"It's never too late to learn, right, son?" Zachary said, looking at Jonathan.
