Chapter 459 Taken Aback
โGreat-grandpa,โ Jonathan said calmly, โIโve heard the government plans to issue a demolition notice in three days to build a subway. If that happens, the land value will at least triple Mr. Evansโ offer. Investing there could yield immense returns.โ
George blinked, surprised by Jonathanโs interjection. The boyโs confident tone gave him pause. Without hesitation, George instructed his subordinates, โGo investigate that.โ
โYes, sir.โ
George cared little about the factory's demolition. What bothered him was Ralph's apparent attempt at deception.
Ralph, however, was incredulous. How could a child possess such inside information? โKid, you shouldnโt speak without knowing the facts,โ Ralph stammered. โIโve heard nothing about such a notice.โ
Seeing her husband exposed by a child, Paula interjected sharply, โExactly, kiddo. Letโs not say things weโre unsure of.โ She glared at Jonathan, hoping to intimidate him.
Jonathan remained unfazed. Turning to George, he said, โGreat-grandpa, I donโt like her. Can you ask them to leave?โ
Paula and Ralph were stunned. Within three minutes, they were politely escorted out. Vivian, observing from the sidelines, reveled in the moment.
George, however, suspected Jonathan fabricated the news out of dislike for the couple. He asked, โJon, why donโt you like Mrs. Paula?โ
Before Jonathan could answer, the subordinate returned breathlessly, โMr. Sinclair, Jonathan was right. Ralph learned of the news early and came here to exploit the Sinclair family.โ
The subordinate, panting, stood awestruck, his admiration for Jonathan evident. It was remarkable for such a young child to possess and understand such high-level information.
Georgeโs eyes widened. โReally?โ he asked, incredulous. Seeing his subordinate nod, George patted Jonathanโs shoulder. โMy dear great-grandson, how did you learn such valuable news?โ he asked proudly.
The boy was only four years old.

Jonathan realized heโd inadvertently revealed too much in his attempt to expose Paula. He had to lie.
โAn uncle told me,โ he replied calmly.
โOh,โ George said, slightly disappointed. Yet, he realized such logical thinking in a young child was genius. โThank goodness for my great-grandson, or I would have been the fool.โ
Vivian watched silently, doubtful. Why do I find Jonathanโs story hard to believe? What adult discusses such matters with a child? And he's lying to Old Mr. Sinclair without a second thought. Isn't he afraid of punishment?
After things settled, George rested. Vivian, still intrigued, called Cecilia. โYou wonโt believe how amazing Jonathan was today,โ she began. โWithout him, Old Mr. Sinclair would have signed with Paula and her husband.โ
Cecilia, considering Jonathanโs intelligence, connected the dots. Jonathan clearly knew Nathaniel was his father and Paula his grandmother.
Curious, she asked Jonathan, โJon, do you know who that lady was?โ
Jonathan nodded calmly. โI know. Sheโs my biological grandmother.โ
