Chapter 508 No Need To Explain
Nathaniel froze. โCeciโโ
โNo need to explain. Youโre right.โ Cecilia was unrelieved. She wondered how Nathaniel had discovered the truth. โRest assured, I wonโt use your money to support Eli and Jon. I have more than enough.โ
Nathanielโs concern wasnโt financial. He wanted to explain, but didnโt know how to begin.
โLetโs go back,โ Cecilia said, taking Elliotโs hand.
Elliot sighed. Mommy is too agreeable. No, I canโt just be scumbag daddyโs son that easily. โMommy, Iโm so tired. Can we rest here before going back? I donโt feel well enough to be in the car.โ He feigned weakness.
Cecilia immediately knelt to check on him. โWhatโs wrong, sweetheart?โ
Elliot shook his head. โMaybe the way Mr. Rainsworth carried me made me dizzy.โ
โUghโฆ I feel terrible. I want to rest. What should I do?โ he whined, looking pitiful.
Nathaniel was speechless. This oneโs even more dramatic than Jonathan.
โTake him to my room,โ Nathaniel said.
โAll right,โ Cecilia agreed, about to lift Elliot.
Nathaniel extended his hand. โIโll take him.โ
Without waiting for Ceciliaโs approval, he scooped up Elliot. Cecilia didnโt stop him. โBe careful. Donโt carry him by his overalls like before.โ His height, she reasoned, likely caused Elliotโs dizziness.
Elliot quickly grabbed Nathanielโs collar. โMr. Rainsworth, please be gentle. I feel terrible,โ he said, wiping saliva onto Nathanielโs clothes.
Chapter 508 No Need To Explain
Nathaniel couldnโt see it, but he felt the saliva and was disgusted.
Elliot was asleep by the time they reached the room. Nathaniel gently placed him on the bed. He navigated the path as if familiar with it, despite a few minor obstacles requiring Ceciliaโs guidance.
Cecilia was surprised but not suspicious. Amazing how vividly he remembers the path, even though he hasnโt been here in a while. I still remember when we were staying together in Sparaville. He kept bumping into things, feeling his way around. Has his sight recovered?
She got a glass of water and placed it near Nathaniel. He inadvertently knocked it over with his foot, spilling water.
โWhatโs going on?โ He frowned. Heโd instructed the housekeepers to keep everything precisely in place.
โSorry, I didnโt put the water down properly,โ Cecilia said quickly. โYou rest. Iโll clean up.โ
Nathanielโs anger vanished. โIโll help you.โ He bent to pick up the cup, his hand brushing Ceciliaโs. He grasped her hand. โYou can ask me anything, Ceci.โ He knew sheโd placed the cup there deliberately.
Cecilia asked directly, โYouโre blind, so how can you walk so smoothly, almost like a normal person?โ
