Chapter 529 Do Not Scold Him
After Cecilia finished composing that evening, she went to Elliot's room and noticed his bedding had been changed.
โEli, did you change the sheets and duvet cover?โ
โMr. Rainsworth helped me.โ
โAnd the dirty bedding?โ
โMr. Rainsworth said to throw it away,โ Elliot replied.
Cecilia sighed, squatting to explain patiently, โIf the bedding gets dirty in the future, just tell me. Iโll change it. Donโt throw it away; it can be washed and reused. Many people in the world donโt even have bedding.โ
โI told Mr. Rainsworth that,โ Elliot replied seriously.
Cecilia felt she needed to speak with Nathaniel to ensure his wasteful habits didn't influence the child.
โOkay, I understand. You should rest now.โ She kissed his forehead.
As she left, Elliot pulled her hand. โMr. Rainsworth only helped because heโs kind. Mom, please donโt be angry with him.โ
Elliot knew betraying Nathaniel wasn't honorable, but it was his first time defending him.
Cecilia nodded. โOkay, donโt worry.โ
After leaving the room and carefully closing the door, she agreed with Elliot; Nathaniel had good intentions, and she wouldn't blame him.
After washing up and preparing for bed, she received a message: "Cecilia, you must have seen the photos online. When are you returning Nathaniel to me? He doesnโt love you. If he recovers his memory, he wonโt be with you." It was Stella.
Cecilia didn't reply, but soon received another message: "I know you already have a child. You arenโt even divorced yet, and you have a son with someone else. Isnโt that more disgusting than me? If Nathaniel regains his memory, he definitely wonโt let you off."
Cecilia sneered and replied: "If you want Nathaniel, take him. Stop using these tricks."
She was no longer someone easily disturbed by Stella's words. There was no further response. Cecilia went to bed.
That night, she had a nightmare: Nathaniel had regained his memory and looked at her coldly, wanting to take the child and demanding she abort the twins.
โNo!โ Cecilia woke with a start, sweating.
โWhatโs wrong?โ Nathanielโs voice sounded beside her. She regained her senses, seeing his face.
โHow did you get in?โ She'd locked the door.
He didn't answer, pulling her into his arms. โDid you have a nightmare?โ
Remembering the dream, Cecilia pushed him away. The dream felt incredibly real.
โYes.โ Her body trembled subtly. Stellaโs messages had affected her.
โWhat kind of dream?โ
โNothing.โ She didnโt want to talk, turning away.
Nathaniel, not understanding her distress, moved closer; Cecilia shrank further into the corner. He followed, so they were squeezed together.
Cecilia was frustrated. โCan you sleep in the next room?โ
โWhy? Was I in your dream?โ Nathaniel asked.
He knew he'd guessed correctly and embraced her. โIf I did something wrong in the dream, you can hit me, or bite me, to vent your anger?โ His warm breath was on her ear.
