Chapter 562 International Superstar
After some thought, Elliot approached Nathaniel and said, โItโs simple. Take me to your new company.โ
Nathaniel was surprised. โWhat are you planning to do at my company?โ
โI just want to see how big it is.โ Elliot mused that his mother might actually accept Nathaniel. To reconcile with Nathaniel, he needed to reassess Nathaniel's capabilities. If Nathaniel wasn't suitable, he wouldn't allow his mother to be with him.
โAlright, Iโll take you there tomorrow. Now, tell me,โ Nathaniel said, unaware of Elliot's intentions.
Elliot revealed, โThe person with Mommy today is Eric Palmer. He was an ordinary singer when my mom helped him abroad. Now, heโs an international superstar.โ
โAn international superstar? Eric Palmer?โ Nathaniel found the name vaguely familiar; Mason had mentioned him, though he rarely remembered celebrities' names.
โMr. Rainsworth, heโs incredibly handsome. My mommy said heโs of mixed race. That means his parents are from different countries. Television says such children are very good-looking.โ
Nathaniel chuckled. โDonโt believe everything you hear on TV. Do you know what a mule is?โ
Elliot looked puzzled. โIsnโt it a small animal?โ
โMules are offspring of horses and donkeys. Theyโre larger than donkeys and more docile than horses, but they have a significant drawback.โ
โWhat?โ
โTheyโre infertile.โ
Elliot, sharper than he seemed, understood Nathanielโs implication regarding Ericโs inability to have children.
When Nathaniel left, he turned back. โWho do you find more handsome, me or Eric?โ
Elliot hesitated. โMr. Rainsworth, you both have unique charm. However, heโs younger. Mommy said heโs two or three years younger than her. Granny Martha said a woman three years older is like a gem. Ms. Kennedy likes younger men, and she was probably referring to Mr. Eric.โ
Nathaniel, usually confident in his appearance, felt his age keenly. He was in his early thirties. How could he compare to someone in their twenties? Especially now, being blind, he couldn't judge their relative attractiveness.
That night, Nathaniel slept with Cecilia. Even locking the door was futile; he always found a way in. She didnโt stop him. He held her hand tightly. โWould you consider composing your songs at my office?โ
โWhy?โ
โDonโt you think thereโs a certain ambiance working in the office?โ
โNo, Iโd rather stay home with Eli. If anything happens, Iโll know immediately,โ Cecilia refused.
Nathaniel couldnโt convince her to work at the office. โDid your friend arrange to meet you again?โ
Cecilia didnโt hide it. โI composed a song for him. We need to discuss it.โ
Nathaniel hadnโt anticipated their collaboration. โIโll buy all your compositions,โ he offered, hoping to alleviate her concerns. โI plan on bringing over all the artists from Central Media. You can focus solely on composing.โ
Cecilia rejected his offer outright.
