Chapter 581: We Have the Results

Niel’s expression shifted the moment he heard those words. He looked at Cecilia and demanded, “Is this true?”

Cecilia met the old man’s stern gaze unflinchingly. “So, Eli not being a direct descendant of the Rainsworth family means he can’t receive fair treatment?”

Miranda scoffed coldly. “He’s a bastard, yet you think him comparable to our Felix?”

The term “bastard” enraged Cecilia. She fixed Miranda with a cold stare, causing Miranda to recall the earlier kick and take a step back.

“Why are you glaring at me? Did I say something wrong? If anything happens to Felix, I’ll hold you and your son responsible!”

Cecilia clenched her fists. A deep voice then boomed, “And what if it’s my son who’s in serious condition?”

Everyone turned to see Nathaniel approaching, his long strides covering the distance quickly. His imposing presence silenced Miranda and Adrian. Niel’s face darkened as Nathaniel approached.

“Nathaniel, Adrian already told me. Eli isn’t your son.”

Adrian felt uneasy hearing his grandfather repeat his report. Nathaniel remained calm. “Grandpa, wouldn’t I know if Eli were my son?”

Niel held up documents, reiterating Adrian’s claims. Adrian interjected, “Nathaniel, the dates don’t align. You’ve been deceived by Cecilia.”

Nathaniel’s gaze fell on Adrian, silencing him instantly. Miranda, believing Nathaniel wouldn’t harm her, continued to provoke. “Nathaniel, Cecilia kicked me! You must explain this.”

Nathaniel’s brow furrowed. Cecilia expected a reprimand, but he said, “My wife is pregnant, and she acted in self-defense. Shouldn’t you be questioning your actions?”

Miranda was speechless. Nathaniel then turned to Cecilia. “Darling, are you alright? Hurt anywhere?”

Cecilia glanced at the nervous Adrian and Miranda before answering, “My stomach hurts a little.”

“You’re pretending!” Miranda immediately retorted.

“My wife is carrying twins. If anything happens to her, the two of you won’t be able to make amends,” Nathaniel warned sternly.

Miranda and Adrian, intimidated, turned to Niel for help. Hearing Cecilia was carrying twins, Niel couldn’t bring himself to reprimand her, but Eli’s harming of Felix remained a serious issue.

“Nathaniel, you must understand right from wrong. Eli is not your son, nor part of the Rainsworth family. Felix, however, is your nephew. You must weigh their importance.”

While the argument raged, Elena, Nicholas, and Cassandra arrived. “Dad, what’s happening? Where’s Eli?” Elena asked.

Adrian explained how Eli had lured Felix to the hill, leaving him out in the cold. He also revealed Eli’s lack of Rainsworth blood. Elena’s investigation had been fruitless, and learning Eli was Calvin’s son left her ashen-faced.

“Aunt Elena, I also found out Cecilia lived with that man for four or five years abroad.”

Elena was shocked by Cecilia’s betrayal. “Cecilia, how dare you?”

Nathaniel was about to defend Cecilia when Mason rushed in, his face beaming. He whispered, “Boss, we have the results.”
