Chapter 607: Please Do Not Be Mad
โDaddy, Mommy, please stop fighting,โ Elliot pleaded, his eyes already brimming with tears. Both Cecilia and Nathaniel fell silent.
With a pitiful look, Elliot turned to Cecilia. โMommy, I donโt want to go to kindergarten anymore. Please donโt blame Daddy. He only agreed because he couldnโt bear to see me upset.โ
Cecilia was distressed. "Heโs making it sound like Iโm fine with seeing him upset! I took care of him for years! Why canโt I compare to his father, who has only been around for a few months?"
โMommy, please donโt be mad,โ Elliot said, humbling himself to divert her attention and help Nathaniel. He hoped his adorableness would calm her anger. Unfortunately, it didn't work.
โEli, if you want to go to kindergarten, then go. But if anything happens, you must drop out immediately,โ Cecilia said, walking past him instead of hugging him.
Elliot panicked, realizing Cecilia was angry at both Nathaniel and him. Seeking solitude, Cecilia retreated to the music room, shutting the door.
Jonathan criticized Elliot. โAre you out of your mind? Mommy raised you, yet you defended Nathaniel?โ
โJon, donโt you want a complete family?โ Elliot retorted. โDo you like being labeled an unwanted child?โ
Jonathan fell silent. A moment later, he said, โIโll only call him โDaddyโ when Mommy is ready to accept him.โ
โJonโฆโ Elliot began.
โStop that. It doesnโt work on me,โ Jonathan interrupted, settling on the couch and flipping through a book.
Meanwhile, Nathaniel instructed Mason to find a fully equipped kindergarten for Elliot.
Elliot waited by the music room door, knowing heโd hurt Cecilia. She emerged after a long time to find him curled up, nodding off.
โEli, why are you sitting here?โ she asked.
โMommy,โ Elliot woke instantly, producing a small bouquet of flowers. โMommy, please donโt be mad anymore. I love you more than Daddy. Iโm not going to kindergarten anymore.โ
Ceciliaโs sorrow was palpable. She embraced him. โEli, you and your brother are my everything. How could I ever be mad at you? Iโm just upset that I couldnโt give you a healthy body. If you were like your brother, youโd be able to do anything you wanted.โ
Relieved, Elliot patted Ceciliaโs shoulder. โMommy, donโt be sad. Iโll get better soon. When I do, can we travel abroad as a family? Iโd like to see the ocean.โ
โAll right,โ Cecilia agreed.
Engrossed in their conversation, they didn't notice Nathaniel until Elliot looked up and said, โDaddy.โ
Cecilia, startled, wiped away tears. Elliot, ever tactful, excused himself. โMommy, Iโm thirsty. Iโm going to get some water.โ
He left them alone. Nathaniel approached Cecilia. โIโve arranged a kindergarten for Eli. Itโs equipped with professional medical facilities, and Iโll have someone supervising him around the clock.โ
