Chapter 631 The Boys Like Him Too
โShould I ask him for his account?โ Cecilia joked.
โYeah, you do that. If only he were willing to join our livestream. Iโm thinking of changing the name of this account to โJonโs Pretty Friend.โโ
Sheโd named the account โJonโs Mommyโ to conceal Ceciliaโs identity. That was no longer necessary. Cecilia had already revealed her face, and now it was Vivianโs turn. Jonathan approved. After all, the account was for Vivianโs amusement.
โSven would never agree,โ Cecilia said, knowing it without asking.
โFine,โ Vivian replied, sounding disappointed. Then, she asked, โCeci, youโre not upset we secretly set up an account, are you?โ
โNot at all,โ Cecilia replied. โBut as internet broadcasters, you need to prioritize your safety. Be cautious about revealing too much personal information.โ Cecilia was committed to supporting her daughter and friend, understanding they were forging their own paths.
Vivian nodded. โDonโt worry.โ
After the call, Cecilia wondered how Elliot was doing. When Nathaniel entered, she asked, โDoes Eliโs school have a parentsโ group chat?โ
โIโll ask Mason.โ
โAll right.โ
Nathaniel called, and soon Cecilia was added to the group. Elliotโs class lacked a dedicated chat, but the teacher frequently updated Cecilia on his progress. Elliot, she learned, was remarkably popular.
The teacher wrote: Donโt worry. Elliot instantly befriended all the girls in our class.
All the girls? Cecilia worried: What about the boys?
The teacher replied: The boys also like him.
Relieved, Cecilia reviewed the surveillance footage the teacher shared, finally understanding. She noticed one boyโs face flushed red while interacting with Elliot.
His warm breath grazed her ear, sending a shiver down her spine. โThe teacher said heโs doing well. I checked the surveillance footage; he seems quite popular.โ
Though Jonathan and Elliot were twins, they were vastly different. Elliot possessed a natural charm, captivating both boys and girls. Jonathan, however, with his serious demeanor and arrogant attitude, had alienated many boys.
โThatโs good,โ Nathaniel said, sitting beside her.
โArenโt you supposed to be at work?โ Cecilia asked.
โI donโt need to be at work today.โ
Silence fell. Feeling uneasy about their awkward dynamic, Cecilia asked, โWhat are we to each other now?โ
Nathaniel was momentarily stunned. Shouldnโt he be asking that? โCecilia, is that all you have to say to me?โ
Cecilia looked at his stern face. โIโve made myself quite clear. I did nothing wrong concerning Jonathan and Elliot.โ
Nathaniel was speechless. He rolled over, pulling Cecilia into his arms, his hand resting gently on her arm. She instinctively flinched.
โDo you fear me?โ Nathaniel asked gravely.
Cecilia shook her head. โIโm not scared of you at all.โ Her flinch was purely instinctive, a conditioned response to the possibility of him striking her.
A sardonic smile touched Nathanielโs lips. โYouโre right,โ he said. โIf you were afraid of me, how could you dare admit to infidelity in front of so many people, forcing me to divorce you?โ Before his accident and blindness, Cecilia was the only person in Tudela brave enough to do that.
โItโs all in the past. Whatโs the point of bringing this up now? Are you trying to settle the score?โ she asked.
