Chapter 633 Miranda Is Attacked

After sending the message, Miranda swiftly blocked them, severing ties once they were no longer useful. However, she overlooked Camila and Anisa's presence in the parents' association group chat.

At ten o'clock that evening, Cecilia's phone buzzed incessantly, puzzling her. Checking it, she found the group chat ablaze with new messages. Anisa wrote: "Watch out for Miranda. Don't trust her promises. She said she'd reward us generously if we got rid of Ms. Cecilia, but now things are going wrong, she's calling us fools and saying we should handle it ourselves! We had an agreement that she'd take responsibility if anything went wrong." Camila added: "Miranda, you despicable woman, you've made my husband abandon me!"

Cecilia quickly scanned the barrage of messages criticizing Miranda. Miranda, seemingly preoccupied, hadn't noticed and hadn't removed them. The other mothers remained silent, seemingly ignoring the unfolding drama.

Camila and Anisa, with nothing left to lose, unleashed a torrent of insults. By the time Miranda checked the chat, nearly a hundred harsh messages targeted her. Furious but powerless, she could only remove them, the damage already done. Despite her frustration, she pretended nothing had happened.

Seizing the opportunity, Priscilla ingratiatingly sent a flurry of emojis, then apologetically claimed her child had been playing with her phone. Her people-pleasing tendencies hampered her otherwise adept social maneuvering.

Cecilia believed Miranda's true colors were now evident and saw an opportune moment to gather support. She privately messaged mothers who'd previously asked her to procure items, informing them their requests were fulfilled and proposing a small gathering in a few days to deliver them. These mothers, having seen the livestream, knew Cecilia was wealthy and the school's largest shareholder. They readily agreed.

Cecilia hadn't spent her own money; she'd simply used her resources to locate the items, the mothers still responsible for payment. Knowing their affluence, she understood that excessive attempts to impress them would backfire.

Beside her, Elliot slept soundly. The rhythmic tap-tap-tap of Cecilia's typing echoed softly until Nathaniel gently took the phone. "Go to sleep," he said, considering her health and late hour, especially given her pregnancy.

She realized it was late and, having finished her tasks, slept soundly.

The next morning, Cecilia awoke at ten o'clock. Her pregnancy increased her sleep needs, leaving her frequently tired. She saw a missed call from Norman. Calling him back, she asked, "Mr. Jenkins, can I help you?"

Norman informed her, "Your case has been accepted. The court hearing will begin soon."

"All right, got it," she replied.

The case concerned the will Cecilia's father had drafted before his death, demanding Paula and Magnus return half of his estate, rightfully hers. "We need a comprehensive list of Smith Corporation's original assets."

"Okay," she said.

After hanging up, Cecilia rubbed her temples. She'd begun an initial investigation, but much information had been lost over time.
