Chapter 634: Find the Information

Cecilia decided to tidy up and have breakfast before searching for the information.

Descending the stairs, she found, to her surprise, Nathaniel still in the living room. He hadn't gone to work.

Cecilia continued down. "No work today either?"

"Mhm hmm." Nathaniel had already handled most company affairs; little remained.

Cecilia thought the company was indeed small, yet he'd threatened her.

She went to the kitchen, intending a quick breakfast, but found the dining table already set with a nutritious meal. Having a chef and housekeeper certainly simplified things.

Cecilia's appetite had grown considerably; she easily consumed a meal for two.

Nearly finished, she rose, hand resting on her slightly protruding belly, ready to clear the table.

Nathaniel entered. "Go rest. The part-timer will clean up."

"It's okay. I can move around a bit."

"If you enjoy moving around, take a walk, and perhaps visit the doctor," Nathaniel suggested.

The mention of a doctor worried Cecilia. "Why should I see a doctor?"

"For a prenatal checkup, of course. What else?"

Nathaniel had noticed Cecilia eating more and recalled Mason mentioning her noticeably rounded belly. She'd been busy composing music or working at the preschool, neglecting her own health.

"No need. The doctor said a monthly checkup suffices. My time isn't due yet." Cecilia didn't want to go to the hospital.

"It's only a checkup. Go," Nathaniel insisted.

Cecilia found his behavior odd. Yesterday, he'd threatened her; today, he insisted on a prenatal checkup.

"No." She simply didn't want to go.

As Cecilia prepared to leave, Nathaniel said, "Don't you want the information from Smith Corporation?"

Cecilia stopped. How could she forget? Nathaniel must have investigated extensively before acquiring Smith Corporation. "You have it?"

"Not only that, I've also investigated your father's assets," Nathaniel replied calmly.

"So, from the beginning, you were after my family's wealth?" Cecilia found him terrifying.

Nathaniel frowned. "At that time, there was no affection between us. Was I supposed to seek out a woman with no background?"

Cecilia momentarily choked back a response. Now wasn't the time for such details.

"Could you give me the information?" she asked.

"Visit the doctor first," Nathaniel said deliberately.

Cecilia conceded, "All right then."

They headed to the hospital, sitting side-by-side in the backseat.

They arrived at the city's largest hospital and went inside. At the entrance, Cecilia recognized Nicholas and Cassandra.

Cassandra looked pale. Seeing Cecilia and Nathaniel, she clung to Nicholas' arm. "Nathaniel, Cecilia, what a coincidence."

"Mhm," Cecilia nodded.

Cassandra asked with concern, "Cecilia, why are you and Nathaniel here? Are you ill?"

"We're here for a prenatal checkup," Cecilia replied.

Cassandra smiled warmly. "Cecilia, I hope you can guide me. I'm also expecting, and Nicholas is here for my prenatal checkup."

Cecilia was surprised. She hadn't noticed Nathaniel taking her hand.

Nathaniel sensed Cecilia's stiffness. A coldness flashed in his eyes. "Since you're pregnant, you should consider moving up your wedding date."
