Chapter 638: Carrying Twins
Elena was initially displeased at being called old-fashioned, but Elliot's announcement immediately changed her mood. "Did you say twins?"
Elliot nodded. "Yeah, Mommy's having twins. It'll be two brothers or two sisters for me."
Elena was overjoyed. She longed for grandchildren, but never expected Cecilia to have twins; now, another set was on the way. Once Cecilia's twins arrived, Elena would have four grandchildrenโa prospect that filled her with immense joy.
Overwhelmed with happiness, Elena rose and said to Cecilia, "You're pregnant; you shouldn't stand for too long. Sit down quickly." Cecilia had never received such considerate treatment since becoming a Rainsworth daughter-in-law, a fact she attributed to her pregnancy.
Cecilia moved to a seat far from Elena.
"I'll hire a nutritionist for you tomorrow," Elena added. "She used to take care of me."
"No need. We have a chef at home," Cecilia replied.
Elena frowned slightly. "A chef and a nutritionist aren't the same thing." She then rose, preventing further argument. "All right, I'm heading home now. Moana will come over tomorrow."
Elena left and quickly got into a car. Cecilia paid little attention to the nutritionist suggestion, assuming things would proceed as usual.
However, the next day, after Nathaniel and Elliot left at 8:30, the nutritionist, Moana Brooks, burst into Cecilia's room, waking her. Cecilia, still drowsy, saw a meticulously dressed woman in her fifties, her hair graying, wearing a formal outfit. "Mrs. Rainsworth, it's already half past eight. It's time to wake up. Sleeping too long isn't good for the baby."
Again, the focus was on the baby. Cecilia asked, "Are you Moana?"
"Yes. Madam Elena sent me specifically to take care of you."
Unable to fall back asleep, Cecilia got up. Downstairs, she found the usually lavish breakfast table laden only with meat and eggs. Why is there only meat and eggs? Cecilia frowned. Even before her pregnancy, she couldn't eat that much; now, with her aversion to meat, it was impossible.
"You're carrying twins now, so you need to increase your nutritional intake. You must finish all the meat I've placed here," Moana insisted.
Cecilia stared at the stacks of beef, fish, ribs, and eggs. Even without being pregnant, she couldn't manage that quantity, let alone now.
"I can't eat that. I'll just cook some oatmeal," Cecilia said, heading for the kitchen.
Moana blocked her path. "Mrs. Rainsworth, Madam Elena instructed that you must follow my arrangements."
Cecilia, emboldened, replied, "The instructions came from Madam Elena; speak to her. I don't need you to make arrangements for me."
Moana, with her substantial frame, again blocked Cecilia's way, clearly preventing kitchen access. Cecilia mused, Is she supposed to force-feed me?
She sat down, ignoring the food and pulling out her phone to order takeout. Before she could, Moana snatched it away. "Mrs. Rainsworth, you've had children before. Aren't you aware that mobile phones emit radiation? Could you take responsibility if this affects the Rainsworth family's child? Also, as the daughter-in-law of the Rainsworth family, you should find the time to undergo plastic surgery to remove the scar."
Cecilia knew mobile phones emitted minimal radiation, scientifically proven to have no impact on a fetus. She rarely used her phone or computer for more than two hours a day.
