Chapter 639 Did Not Seem To Be
Cecรญlia clenched her fists and stared coldly at Moana. โWhat do you mean, โthe Rainsworth familyโs childโ? The child I carry is mine. I know what's best for it. As its mother, my care surpasses anyone else's. I'd even give my life for my children. Can you say the same? My appearance is none of your concern. If I choose plastic surgery, it's my decision.โ
Moana choked back a sob. Before meeting Cecรญlia, sheโd heard she was timid. This proved those rumors wrong.
Cecรญlia rose, extending a hand. โReturn my phone.โ
Moana, adamant about her ability to handle any woman, raised her hand. Cecรญlia assumed the phone was coming back, but Moana loosened her grip, sending it plummeting to the ground. The screen shattered with a resounding crack. โOops, my apologies, Mrs. Rainsworth. My hands aren't as steady as they used to be.โ
Cecรญlia, aware that anger was detrimental to her health, remained calm. She bent down, retrieved her phone, and said coldly, โSince you're getting old, you should retire.โ
She left. Moana called after her, โMrs. Rainsworth, where are you going?โ
Cecรญlia ignored her, instructing Sven to drive them elsewhere. She had planned a meeting with other mothers, but her phone was broken. She decided to get it repaired and have breakfast. Moana was a handful; she needed to find a way to get rid of her before her constant presence affected her health and, consequently, her baby.
As soon as Cecรญlia left, Moana complained to Elena, exaggerating Cecรญliaโs actions. Elena disliked Cecรญlia even more, her dislike tempered only by the fact Cecรญlia carried her grandchildren.
โItโs normal for her to be moody during pregnancy. Take good care of her,โ Elena said before ending the call. She was unaware of Moanaโs pressure on Cecรญlia to eat meat and eggs, only that Cecรญlia was troublesome and unappreciative of her hired help.
Cassandra, nearby, watched Elena hang up. โMadam Elena, youโre so kind to Cecรญlia.โ
Elena, charmed by Cassandraโs demeanor, replied, โArenโt you pregnant as well? From now on, call me Mom.โ
During the engagement, Elena hadn't asked Cassandra to change her address. But learning of her pregnancy prompted the change.
Joy filled Cassandraโs eyes. โMom.โ
โYouโre living here now. If youโre uncomfortable with anything, let me know. Iโll arrange it. Focus on your work,โ Elena reassured, patting her hand.
โMhm,โ Cassandra nodded.
Initially worried Nicholas wouldnโt acknowledge her child, she saw this as a blessing. Elena provided excellent care, promoted her, and even promised she could resume her career after the babyโs birth.
Cassandra thrived, but couldn't accept Cecรญlia remained in Tudela. Cecรญlia's fearlessness was unsettling. She wouldn't let her get away next time.
Making an excuse, Cassandra left Elena, heading to Mirandaโs residence. She knew Miranda, due to her sonโs situation, was at odds with Cecรญlia. She decided to add fuel to the fire.
Miranda was exhausted from dealing with the group of mothers; sheโd never faced such harsh reprimands. Cassandra found her on the couch, massaging her temples.
