Chapter 140: The Principal Came for a Girl
As soon as Pamela shouted, two security guards approached. โMiss, what happened?โ Pamela pointed at Olive. โThis woman doesnโt have an invitation and wants to sneak into the banquet hall. She lied, claiming the principal invited her. I think sheโs trouble. Remove her!โ Pamela wanted Olive gone, avoiding any attention.
The guards approached Olive. โMiss, you canโt cause trouble here. Leave immediately, or weโll remove you.โ Pamela reveled in Oliveโs humiliation. Arrogantly, she added, โOlive, go with them.โ
A stern voice interrupted, โWhatโs happening here?โ Pamela turned to see Principal Bounty and Professor Ruger. Quickly suppressing her hostility, Pamela explained, โPrincipal, this is my sister, Olive. Sheโs uninvited, claiming you invited her, which is impossible; she only graduated from high school. The guards are removing her.โ
Bounty looked surprised. โWhat do you mean, Olive only graduated from high school?โ Pamela stiffened. โYes, Principal. She was orphaned young and couldnโt continue her education.โ
Professor Ruger, also surprised by Oliveโs presence and appearance in a beautiful dress, said, โOlive, why are you here? This is a medical party. Donโt embarrass yourself.โ His prejudice was evident, yet Olive looked stunning. Pamela felt victorious. โOlive, hurry, or theyโll remove you.โ
Principal Bounty stepped forward. โI invited Olive. Who dares remove her?โ
Pamela felt numb. Had Bounty really invited Olive? Bounty approached Olive. โOlive, why didnโt you call? I would have collected you.โ
Olive replied, โPrincipal, I just arrived and was chatting with an acquaintance.โ
Bountyโs unhappy gaze swept over Pamelaโs rigid face. She addressed the guards and a waiter, โThis is my honored guest.โ
Pamela felt a stinging blow. Bounty intimately held Oliveโs hand, smiling lovingly. โOlive, Iโve been waiting. Iโm glad the dress fits; it suits your beauty. You look ravishing.โ
Olive smiled. โI love the dress. Thank you, maโam.โ
โYouโre welcome, dear. Come, Iโll introduce you to people.โ Bounty led Olive inside.
Pamela was speechless, stunned by the contrast between Bountyโs previous demeanor and her current doting treatment of Olive. She watched as Bounty ushered Olive into the spotlight, introducing her to prominent professors. Olive, calm and elegant, received praise, becoming the star of the evening. Pamela sensed Bountyโs fondness for Olive but couldn't understand their connection.
โSir, how do Olive and the principal know each other?โ Pamela asked Professor Ruger.
He was shocked. โThe principal was here for a girl. Could it be Olive?โ
Pamela gasped. The principal was here for Olive? She suspected Olive was hiding secrets.
In the banquet hall, after introductions, Bounty said to Olive, โI have an important guest youโll meet.โ
โPrincipal, who?โ Olive asked.
Bounty replied mysteriously, โA secret for now. They havenโt arrived.โ She looked around, noticing Marvinโs absence. Heโd declined the invitation. She called him. Marvinโs cold voice answered, โAunt, Iโm not coming.โ
โMarvin, I know you have high standards, but this girl is different. Olive is exceptional. I guaranteeโฆโ
Marvin interrupted, โAunt, who is this girl? Is it Olive?โ
