Chapter 140: The Principal Came for a Girl

As soon as Pamela shouted, two security guards approached. “Miss, what happened?” Pamela pointed at Olive. “This woman doesn’t have an invitation and wants to sneak into the banquet hall. She lied, claiming the principal invited her. I think she’s trouble. Remove her!” Pamela wanted Olive gone, avoiding any attention.

The guards approached Olive. “Miss, you can’t cause trouble here. Leave immediately, or we’ll remove you.” Pamela reveled in Olive’s humiliation. Arrogantly, she added, “Olive, go with them.”

A stern voice interrupted, “What’s happening here?” Pamela turned to see Principal Bounty and Professor Ruger. Quickly suppressing her hostility, Pamela explained, “Principal, this is my sister, Olive. She’s uninvited, claiming you invited her, which is impossible; she only graduated from high school. The guards are removing her.”

Bounty looked surprised. “What do you mean, Olive only graduated from high school?” Pamela stiffened. “Yes, Principal. She was orphaned young and couldn’t continue her education.”

Professor Ruger, also surprised by Olive’s presence and appearance in a beautiful dress, said, “Olive, why are you here? This is a medical party. Don’t embarrass yourself.” His prejudice was evident, yet Olive looked stunning. Pamela felt victorious. “Olive, hurry, or they’ll remove you.”

Principal Bounty stepped forward. “I invited Olive. Who dares remove her?”

Pamela felt numb. Had Bounty really invited Olive? Bounty approached Olive. “Olive, why didn’t you call? I would have collected you.”

Olive replied, “Principal, I just arrived and was chatting with an acquaintance.”

Bounty’s unhappy gaze swept over Pamela’s rigid face. She addressed the guards and a waiter, “This is my honored guest.”

Pamela felt a stinging blow. Bounty intimately held Olive’s hand, smiling lovingly. “Olive, I’ve been waiting. I’m glad the dress fits; it suits your beauty. You look ravishing.”

Olive smiled. “I love the dress. Thank you, ma’am.”

“You’re welcome, dear. Come, I’ll introduce you to people.” Bounty led Olive inside.

Pamela was speechless, stunned by the contrast between Bounty’s previous demeanor and her current doting treatment of Olive. She watched as Bounty ushered Olive into the spotlight, introducing her to prominent professors. Olive, calm and elegant, received praise, becoming the star of the evening. Pamela sensed Bounty’s fondness for Olive but couldn't understand their connection.

“Sir, how do Olive and the principal know each other?” Pamela asked Professor Ruger.

He was shocked. “The principal was here for a girl. Could it be Olive?”

Pamela gasped. The principal was here for Olive? She suspected Olive was hiding secrets.

In the banquet hall, after introductions, Bounty said to Olive, “I have an important guest you’ll meet.”

“Principal, who?” Olive asked.

Bounty replied mysteriously, “A secret for now. They haven’t arrived.” She looked around, noticing Marvin’s absence. He’d declined the invitation. She called him. Marvin’s cold voice answered, “Aunt, I’m not coming.”

“Marvin, I know you have high standards, but this girl is different. Olive is exceptional. I guarantee…”

Marvin interrupted, “Aunt, who is this girl? Is it Olive?”
