Chapter 264 Take Care of Your Wife!

Crystal put away her phone, unable to decipher Elvis's intentions. Was he interested in Olive, or not? If so, why hadn't he visited? She pondered the question repeatedly. What kind of woman had never encountered a man of Elvis's status and power? He was attractive, yet temptation never faulted him; he wasn't easily captivated by beauty. Perhaps he knew nothing about Olive. Crystal herself wouldn't have given Olive a second glance; she was unworthy to be considered a rival. This thought brought Crystal a sense of relief, although she still longed to witness the performance firsthand, intensely curious about Olive's hidden face.

Elvis was at the hospital; Mrs. Samantha had suddenly lost consciousness. He stood in the corridor, his tall frame and handsome face etched with bitterness. He looked at Lily. "Why did Grandma faint?" Lily, maintaining her youthful appearance despite her years, sadly replied, "Elvis, this isn't my fault. You know her tastes. She can't eat anything. I care for her every day, but she's old. Prepare yourself."

Elvis grabbed Lily's arm. "Tell me the truth," he said coldly, then pushed her away. Lily stumbled backward, but a strong arm caught her waist. "Alpha," she breathed, eyes filled with love and joy. "You're back." Years hadn't diminished Lily's passionate admiration for Alpha.

Alpha, recently returned from abroad, wore a thick black wool coat. His butler, Aiden, stood behind him, holding a black handbag. Fatigue etched Alpha's features, but it only added to his imposing presence. He steadied Lily, then released her, addressing Elvis. "She's your stepmother, after all."

Elvis retorted sarcastically, "You don't find it disgusting that sisters serve the same husband? I hate the word 'stepmother.'" Lily froze. Alpha remained impassive, his gaze briefly falling on Lily. "Go," he instructed. Lily obeyed; she knew this powerful man preferred obedient women. "Okay, Alpha. I'll go."

Lily glanced at Elvis before leaving. Despite her investigations, she couldn't gauge the extent of his mental recovery. Years ago, she'd manipulated him into illness, but his return from Los Angeles found him seemingly cured. This was unwelcome; she'd spent so long turning him into a psychopath, and now he was healthy and heir to the Augustine Empire. Lily's gaze lingered on Alpha. Elvis, Annabella's son, still held a significant place in Alpha's heart.

Only father and son remained. Elvis said quietly, "I'll take Grandma to my mansion. Take care of your wife; don't let her run around. Otherwise, I'll help you discipline her."

Alpha looked at the comatose woman. "What are you suspecting? That Lily harmed her? You overestimate Lily and underestimate Grandma. Grandma never valued Lily."

Elvis held his grandmother's hand. "Does Grandma have something to hide from me?"

"Why do you ask?"

"Intuition."

"Her taste is severely impaired; it's futile to treat it. Her greatest wish is for you to marry and have children. If you want her to recover, get along with the Robert family. Hurry, so Grandma can hold her grandchild."

Elvis remained silent by his grandmother's bedside. Alpha watched him, then left.

School was ending. Olive gathered her books when someone burst in. "Olive, Noah and his gang are blocking the school gates, demanding you come out."

Olive, clutching her books, replied, "Impatient. I'm coming." A crowd gathered, urging her to leave. The school gates were blocked by Noah's sports cars, all awaiting her. Olive smiled. "Exciting. Let's go."

At Watson's Gate, Noah and his entourage taunted Olive. Watson students, led by student union president and basketball captain Jimmy, stood against them. Jimmy confronted Noah, stating that any pursuit of Watson female students required their approval. Crystal, observing the scene, was surprised; these boys had once been her fans.
