Chapter 629: Little Adorable Appearance

But in the next second, Elvis stretched out a large hand and pushed her away. Clara quickly opened her eyes, staring blankly at Elvis. He had actually refused her kiss. “What’s wrong?” she asked.

Elvis didn’t know either. Pushing her away felt almost instinctive. His handsome face remained emotionless. He put his right hand in his trouser pocket and said, “Nathan is back. Let’s go to dinner.” With that, Elvis walked out, leaving Clara feeling very disappointed. She had almost kissed him.

Elvis sent Clara back. She took the elevator upstairs, but suddenly found Olive displeasing and instructed her to use the stairs. Olive, equally unenthusiastic about Clara’s company, happily complied.

Clara entered the elevator with her two bodyguards, dressed in black. As the doors were about to close, they opened again, revealing an old woman. Clara felt impatient and was about to look away when she saw a little boy, Levi, behind the woman’s leg.

Clara’s gaze was instantly captivated by Levi’s clean, translucent eyes. His adorable appearance was mesmerizing. Levi entered the elevator, tucked his hands into his pockets, and looked up at Clara with his large eyes. “Hello,” he said.

Was he talking to her? Clara stared suspiciously. “Little friend, are you talking to me?”

“Huh?” Levi tilted his head, gazing seriously at Clara. “You don’t know me?”

“Do we know each other? Who are you?” The doubt in Clara’s eyes deepened. Levi was certain something was wrong with his mother. He scrutinized Clara; her face was his mother’s, but everything else was different.

Clara, likewise studying Levi, found him peculiar. She subtly signaled her bodyguards to detain him for questioning; anyone exhibiting suspicious behavior would not be spared.

Just then, the elevator doors opened and the old woman stepped out. “Grandma!” Levi called out loudly, following her and grabbing her clothing. “Grandma, wait for me! The house key is in my pocket.”

Seeing this, Clara relaxed. The boy was simply the old woman’s grandson, not a threat. She dismissed her bodyguards and let the matter drop.

Outside, Levi, seeing no one following, felt safe. The old lady, however, looked at him quizzically. “Little friend, who are you? Where are your family members? Are you lost?”

Levi quickly released her hand, smiling sweetly. “Oh my gosh, I recognized the wrong person. My house is downstairs. I’ll be going now, ma’am.”

The old lady, charmed by Levi’s cleverness and cuteness, wondered whose child he was.

Levi quickly left, acutely aware of something amiss. The woman in the elevator was definitely not his mother, suggesting she was in danger. He needed help, but from whom?

After a moment’s thought, Levi went directly to Augustine Cooperation. A satisfied look crossed his face as he surveyed the lobby. He approached the front desk and politely said, “Hello, Miss.”

The receptionist’s eyes lit up at the sight of him. “Hello, little friend. Who are you looking for?”

“Miss, I’m looking for your boss, Alpha Augustine.”

The receptionist gasped, surprised that such a cute boy would request a meeting with the CEO. “Little boy, why do you want to see my boss?”

Levi sat on the sofa. “Miss, there’s no need to ask. Call your boss. I won’t go up. Tell him I’m here. I’ll wait for him here. Thank you.”

Stunned, the receptionist quickly used the intercom. “Hello, Secretary General…”

“What’s the matter?”

“Secretary-General, someone downstairs is looking for the boss…”

In the CEO’s office, the secretary frowned at Alpha, who was reviewing documents. “Who is it? Do they have an appointment?”

“No appointment. He says he’s waiting for the boss in the lobby.”

The secretary-general’s eyebrows furrowed, his voice stern. “You’ve worked here for years! Why are you bothering the boss for someone unimportant? Important clients book appointments in advance. The boss can’t come down for everyone. I’ll handle it myself…”

The secretary started to hang up.

“Hey, Secretary-General, don’t hang up!” the receptionist exclaimed.

Alpha, alerted by the loud voice, raised his eyelids, looked at the secretary-general, and activated the speakerphone.

The secretary-general had to explain. “Secretary General, it’s a little boy, about three years old.”

Alpha’s right hand, holding a pen, paused. Something flickered in his deep eyes. He stood up and left the office, the secretary quickly following. It was unheard of for their boss to personally meet a three-year-old.
