Chapter 630: Negotiations Between the Two Little Bosses
Alpha led the secretary to the downstairs hall. From a distance, he saw Levi sitting on the sofa, reading a newspaper. Hearing approaching footsteps, Levi looked up. Seeing Alpha, he put down his newspaper, stood, and respectfully greeted, โHello, Grandfather, itโs me, Levi.โ
The secretary-general behind him gasped. โIsnโt there only one young prince in the Augustine family? Why is there another one here?โ he wondered. He felt a sudden tension, realizing heโd almost rejected his bossโs grandson. The reason for his bossโs personal visit now became clear.
Alpha, having anticipated his other grandsonโs arrival, approached Levi, touched his head, and asked, โLevi, how did you get here?โ
Levi offered an innocent smile. โI happened to be passing by, so I came to see Grandfather. I miss Grandfather very much.โ
Alphaโs thin lips curved into a faint smile. His calm eyes, however, hinted at a suspicion of his grandsonโs seemingly innocent demeanor. โOh, did we fight in the mall that day? When you took your grandmother away, why didnโt you want to see Grandfather?โ
โGrandfather, which day is that? I think youโre mistaken. I canโt remember,โ Levi said, scratching his head, feigning ignorance.
Alpha chuckled; Levi mirrored his laughter. โLetโs go upstairs,โ Alpha said, taking Leviโs hand.
In the presidentโs office, Alpha asked, โLevi, why did you come see me today?โ
Levi, hands in his trouser pockets, replied, โGrandfather, I need a favor. Itโs just you and me, so I can be frank.โ
Alpha, sensing Leviโs awareness of his own background, listened as Levi continued, โMommyโs in a bit of trouble.โ
โYou want me to help your mother?โ Alpha asked.
โNo,โ Levi shook his head. โMommy only needs me and my eldest brother. I donโt need Grandfatherโs help.โ
Alpha finally understood Leviโs purpose. โLevi, do you want to find your elder brother, Nathan?โ
โYes,โ Levi replied. โBut Nathan and Dad believe my background is unknown, my biological father is unknown, and they even see me as an enemy. Itโs not easy for me to go to Dad and tell him Iโm his son.โ
Alpha sighed. โSo, you need to cooperate with your brother to protect Mommy. The battle has begun!โ He nodded. โWhat do you need me to do?โ
โBring him here; letโs have a formal negotiation.โ
Alpha found the suggestion amusing. Nathan was also searching for Levi. A formal meeting between the brothers was a good idea. He turned to his secretary. โPrepare the VIP meeting room.โ
The secretary-general, shocked at the prospect of two โbossesโ negotiating, quickly obeyed.
Half an hour later, the secretary-general received Nathan, impeccably dressed in a white shirt with a butterfly collar and black overalls. His small face was serious. Without looking back, he calmly asked, โWhere is Grandfather?โ
โIn the VIP conference room,โ the secretary-general replied respectfully, opening the door. โLittle Master, please.โ
Nathan entered, his gaze fixed ahead. The long conference table held a black leather chair, slowly turning to reveal Levi.
Levi greeted, โHello.โ
Nathan narrowed his eyes, strikingly similar to Elvisโs. โItโs you? I thought Iโd given you time to disappear.โ He smiled, however. โI have something important to discuss. Have a seat.โ
Levi indicated the opposite chair. โWhatโs your business?โ
โAbout Mummy,โ Levi said, โHave you noticed anything unusual?โ
At the mention of their mother, Nathan fell silent. After a moment, he sat.
The secretary-general nodded in relief. The negotiation had begun smoothly.
Levi observed, โIt seems youโve noticed something unusual about Mummy.โ
Nathan nodded. โYes. Last night, I saw Mummy deliberately spill water on herself to frame someone. Sheโs never done that before. Sheโs changed; itโs strange.โ
โThatโs not our Mummy,โ Levi stated.
Nathan, after a pause, agreed. โYes, thatโs not Mummy.โ
Levi touched his chin. โI wonder where our Mummy is.โ
โMummy is that girl, Sadie,โ Nathan said.
Levi received Nathanโs affirmative nod. โI have to admit it. Mummy is Sadie, and she canโt speak now. I was afraid of being discovered, so I didnโt dare speak to her at the villa.โ
Elvis and Oliveโs sons were close to uncovering the truth.
