Chapter 254

A few boys approached Lemira. "What are you doing?"

Just then, the teacher entered. "Class is starting. Everyone back to your seats."

Susanna, visibly annoyed, remained silent, fearing repercussions at home. Instead, she sat behind Lemira, whispering a threat: "Just wait till class is over, you're done for."

Evelina, seated beside Susanna, glared at Lemira's back, her eyes filled with spite. This was her chance to humiliate Lemira.

As the teacher began the lecture, students opened their textbooks. Lemira, however, pulled out her phone, intent on coding a small app to retaliate against her online detractors. She wasn't easily intimidated.

Susanna, ever watchful, noticed and promptly informed the teacher, "Lemira didn't even bring her textbook, and she's on her phone!"

Lemira quickly put away her phone.

Seeing Lemira's empty desk, the teacher frowned. "Do you have an issue with my class?"

"No, I just forgot it, sorry," Lemira apologized calmly.

Evelina seized the opportunity. "Lemira, you always act as if the rules don't apply to you. Bringing your textbook shows basic respect for the teacher."

Susanna sneered, "Attending class without your textbook? If we all followed your example..."

The teacher deemed the situation unacceptable. "Since you're so confident, Lemira, why don't you solve the problem I just displayed? It's quite challenging."

Lemira examined the problem on the screen. She stood, walked to the board, and began outlining her solution.

Susanna mocked, "Tsk, quite bold. You think you can solve such a difficult problem on your first day?" Recognizing the problem's complexity—a coding challenge beyond a freshman's typical knowledge—she scoffed.

Evelina echoed, "Lemira, there's no shame in admitting you don't know."

Lemira, ignoring them, calmly continued her work.

The teacher initially believed Lemira's attempt was arrogant. But as the solution unfolded, her expression changed. The problem was intended for the final exam, and Lemira, in her first class, had solved it correctly.

Finishing, Lemira put down the chalk. "I'm done."

Susanna scoffed, "Did she just scribble random code?"

The teacher shook her head. "Lemira's solution is correct. This was a final exam question."

Was Lemira truly that brilliant?

Evelina, still resentful, muttered, "Lemira, a great memory doesn't mean you can cheat." How could she possibly know the answer?
