Grabbing a champagne bottle, Matthew splashed it towards Evelina. “Shut it, Miss Goody Two-shoes.” He could see right through her manipulations.

We despised the goody two-shoes the most. Evelina screamed, having worn a brand-new, expensive dress that day. But she dared not lash out at Matthew, knowing she couldn’t afford to offend a member of the Everhart family. She turned to a less attractive man nearby for sympathy, who then couldn’t help but defend her. “Matthew, don’t think you can bully people just because of your status.”

Lemira, with a champagne bottle in hand, approached Evelina. “Cut the moral high ground act, stay away from me!”
