Lucian gave a wry smile. “She’s been rushed to the hospital.”

Asher’s voice suddenly softened, his expression slightly uneasy. “What, she got hurt too?”

“Asher, you know how Caspian loses his temper. If he throws a punch, how could Lemmy not get hurt?”

Lucian was angry. “Asher, from the beginning until now, you haven’t shown any concern for Lemmy. She’s our sister too!” Especially since the livestream showed it was Caspian who started the fight.

Asher quickly defended, “But Lemmy can hold her own in a fight. When those two go at it, it’s hard to tell who’ll come out on top.”

Evelina chimed in, “Asher, Lemmy just got some bruises, but Caspian’s face took a serious hit. It’s pretty bad; his face is all messed up. Fixing that might be tough. What’s he going to do now?”

“His face is messed up?”

Asher couldn’t believe Caspian’s face was ruined. After all, looks are a big deal in showbiz. A ruined face could mean a ruined career.

It was then Asher approached the unconscious Caspian; seeing the scars on his face, he fell silent. He turned to Lucian, furious. “Didn’t you see the marks on Caspian’s face? Why are you still defending Lemira?”

“Asher, I saw Caspian’s injuries, but I’m sure Lemmy had nothing to do with it.”

“How could this not involve Lemmy with such a big scene on the livestream?”

Lucian replied, somewhat helplessly, “But wasn’t this whole mess started by Caspian himself?” He coughed as he got too worked up.

Asher, fuming but not wanting to argue further, thought about how his siblings had ended up like this, all seemingly connected to Lemira.

At that moment, a police officer walked in. “Mr. Caspian hasn’t woken up yet? We’ll need to take his statement soon.”

Asher frowned. “My brother is innocent. That livestream was a setup by my sister, aiming to ruin my brother.”

“Sir, we’ll investigate and find out what truly happened.”

“Don’t you see the state my brother is in? Lemira has just a few scratches. Can’t you tell who suffered more?”

Asher struggled to contain his anger.

“We understand that Mr. Caspian was injured falling into a pit at a construction site while running away, which is unrelated to the victim, Lemira.”

After the police explained, Asher was incredulous. “Really? It has nothing to do with Lemira?”

But that’s not what Evelina told him.

Asher glanced at Evelina, who quickly clarified, “Asher, it was dark and chaotic; I didn’t notice how Caspian got injured.”

Lucian scoffed, “Asher, Evelina often lies. You believe her without question, yet you doubt our own sister Lemira is innocent. How is that fair to our parents?”

“I’ve done nothing wrong by our parents. When our family faced financial trouble, I was the one who took care of you all.”

Asher was on the verge of breaking down.

Evelina tried to explain, “Lucian, I wasn’t at the scene. By the time I realized the police were involved, it was already too late. Seeing Caspian being carried out like that, I thought it was related to Lemira.”

Lucian pressed on, “If you saw nothing, why spread misleading information to Asher, making him believe Lemira caused Caspian’s injuries?”

Evelina took a step back, guilt in her eyes. “I didn’t.”

“Every time there’s conflict, you blur the truth, casting Lemira in a bad light. The Langston family siblings being at odds, you’re always stirring the pot. We should’ve never brought you into the Langston family!”

Lucian was getting angrier by the second.
