Chapter 494

But Asher still spoke up for Evelina. โ€œIโ€™ll hire a professional CEO to manage the company. Eve will learn from them. There wonโ€™t be any issues with the companyโ€™s management.โ€

โ€œAsher, who the CEO is, you donโ€™t get the final say.โ€

Caspian had finally seen through Asherโ€™s stubbornness, determined to funnel resources into Evelina. Well, he couldnโ€™t blame himself for not being polite anymore.

Asher snorted coldly. โ€œIโ€™m the majority shareholder; how does my word not count?โ€

โ€œFrom today, youโ€™re no longer the majority shareholder.โ€

At that moment, Lucian appeared in his wheelchair. He also looked quite unwell and said directly, โ€œCaspian and I can transfer our shares to Lemira. Then, sheโ€™ll be the companyโ€™s majority shareholder.โ€

The room was filled with murmurs of surprise. Hearing this, Asherโ€™s face changed color. He lowered his voice. โ€œWhat exactly are you trying to do?โ€

Asher really hadnโ€™t expected them to band together against him!

Lucian continued, โ€œAsher, are you sure you want to discuss this here? The only person who will be embarrassed is you.โ€

Asher nodded and, with a cold face, went to the lounge.

Lemira was also surprised to see Lucian. Wasnโ€™t he supposed to be held captive by Asher?

Caspian addressed everyone present. โ€œIโ€™m sorry for the spectacle, but the company will be managed by Lemira from now on. Youโ€™ve all seen her scriptwriting talent. I hope we can collaborate in the future.โ€

Hearing Caspian say this, Evelina also stormed off after Asher. Lemira, Caspian, and Lucian moved aside. She looked at Lucian with some surprise. โ€œHow did you get here?โ€

โ€œCaspian sent someone to find me. I came as soon as I could. No matter what, the company canโ€™t fall into Evelinaโ€™s hands.โ€

Lucian knew the company was Caspianโ€™s lifeโ€™s work, but he hadnโ€™t expected Asher to be so biased.

Caspian smiled wryly. โ€œWe all underestimated Evelinaโ€™s cunning.โ€

Lucian turned to Lemira, his tone cautious. โ€œLemmy, donโ€™t worry, Iโ€™ll always be on your side.โ€

Lemira didnโ€™t respond and turned towards the lounge. Caspian, pushing Lucian, followed her.

In the lounge, Lemira was the first to enter and saw Evelina whispering something to Asher. Upon her arrival, Asher looked at her as if he could devour her.

Asher, furious, confronted Lemira. โ€œLemira, I really didnโ€™t expect you to be so capable. You said you were leaving home, cutting ties with the Langston family, and now youโ€™re back to fight for the inheritance? Have you no shame?โ€

โ€œAnd you knew the script was all my work, yet you wanted to credit Evelina for it. Have you no shame?โ€

Asher choked for a moment. โ€œBut Eve contributed to the script as well. How can you say in front of all these people that sheโ€™s just riding on your coattails?โ€

โ€œDo you dare swear on that? If itโ€™s false, may the company go bankrupt, every project fail, and you end up destitute.โ€

After Lemira spoke, she stared at Asher. โ€œGo on, swear. No? You donโ€™t dare?โ€

Asher didnโ€™t open his mouth, angrily retorting, โ€œSuperstition!โ€

โ€œIt seems even if itโ€™s superstition, you donโ€™t dare swear. That means you know exactly what youโ€™re doing.โ€

Asher did this on purpose, trying to take her work and force her into submission.

Asher turned it around. โ€œLemira, if you hadnโ€™t pushed the Langston family to this point, would I have done this?โ€ โ€œSo, I learned it from you.โ€

Lemira raised her head, laughing. โ€œNow Iโ€™m the companyโ€™s largest shareholder. Your word doesnโ€™t count!โ€

Asher was instantly furious.
