Chapter 63

Snow, like powder, filled the air instantly. Dorian was shocked. "Lemira, what in the world are you doing?!" Even for him, a woman charging with a fire extinguisher was unprecedented.

After extinguishing the flames, Lemira, her imitation composure evident, said, "I don't like you, and I definitely don't want to see your childish antics around school." It was almost that time of the month, and she was already on edge. His appearance only exacerbated the situation.

"Lemira, you're quite the character! I'm actually starting to like you. You've got spunk!"

Lemira spun around and sprayed him, causing him to curse as his entourage scrambled for cover. Dropping the extinguisher, she exuded cool indifference. "Don't mess with me." With exams approaching, she didn't want to be entangled with a playboy like Dorian; it would be a colossal waste of time.

Evelina appeared, graceful as a rose. "Lemira, that's really too much! He likes you; he confessed publicly. Even if you don't like him, you can't just break his heart like that."

Lemira's impatience was palpable. "Mind your own business, and get lost!"

Evelina was taken aback, clearly unprepared for Lemira's outburst. Brushing dry powder from her hands—she disliked the smell—Lemira was ready to leave. She'd been struggling to control her emotions since her conversation with Asher yesterday, and now she was barely managing.

Dorian, humiliated, shouted, "Lemira, stop right there! Who said you could leave?"

Ignoring him, Lemira walked away, radiating defiance. Dorian, insulted and livid, roared, "What are you looking at? Grab her! If I don't teach her a lesson, she'll think she can walk all over me!" Evelina watched with a cold smirk. Lemira was a fool; she'd rejected Dorian's interest. What a fool! Evelina was curious to see how Lemira would fare now that she'd angered him. She secretly hoped Lemira would be affected and perform poorly on her exams.

"Who dares lay a finger on her!" Alaric ran across the street, his face stormy.

Seeing Alaric, Lemira paused, remembering his message about meeting at the coffee shop. She'd deleted it without replying; she hadn't planned on going. Yet, here he was.

He confronted Dorian directly. "You little punk, coveting my sister without considering her brothers' approval!"

Dorian, facing Lemira's family, was visibly uncomfortable. However, as an Orvin scion, he looked down on Lyria elites. Infuriated, he countered, "But your sister attacked me with a fire extinguisher. How do you propose we settle this?"

"I saw everything. You harassed my sister first. She used the extinguisher to prevent your candles from starting a fire. Her actions were justified!" Alaric continued, "You might have connections, but this is Lyria. If you want to stay peacefully, don't stir up trouble!"

Dorian's face reddened. "Say that again?"

Evelina intervened. "Alaric, it's not entirely Mr. Draven's fault. Lemira could have simply rejected him. Mr. Draven isn't the type to cling. But the fire extinguisher… that was extreme, wasn't it?"

Dorian seized the opportunity. "Right. With my popularity, why would I hang on to one girl? With Lemira's temper, I'm not interested."

Alaric frowned at Evelina, finding her words unsettling. Lemira had been harassed and had every right to refuse. Why should she spare his feelings? He looked at Dorian disdainfully. "I'm not interested in arguing with a child. If there's a next time, I'll be speaking directly to your parents!"
